Yes, I'm directing Superman: Legacy to be released on July 11, 2025. My brother Matt told me when he saw the release date he started to cry. I asked him why. He said, "Dude, it's Dad's birthday." I hadn't realized.

I lost my Dad almost three years ago. He was my best friend. He didn't understand me as a kid, but he supported my love of comics and my love of film and I wouldn't be making this movie now without him.

It has been a long road to this point. I was offered Superman years ago - I initially said no because I didn't have a way in that felt unique and fun and emotional that gave Superman the dignity he deserved.

Then a bit less than a year ago I saw a way in, in many ways centering around Superman's heritage - how both his aristocratic Kryptonian parents and his Kansas farmer parents inform who he is and the choices he makes.
So I chose to finally take on writing the script. But I was hesitant to direct, despite the constant pestering by Peter Safran and others to commit (sorry, Peter).

Just because I write something doesn't mean I feel it in my bones, visually and emotionally, enough to spend over two years directing it, especially not something of this magnitude.
But, the long and the short of it is, I love this script, and I'm incredibly excited as we begin this journey. #UpUpandAway

Per favore Gunn, credo in te ma non fare una ciofeca di film.
Qui andrà totalmente a cambiare genere, perché non siamo di certo su un cinecomic spassoso e divertente/ignorante come Guardiani e Squad.

Comunque Gunn deve stare attento ad usare All Star Superman così tanto come i suoi visual references, è chiaro perché lo stia facendo, but still....ocio.

Non saprei dire ora come ora se Gunn è il filmmaker più adatto per Superman..   
...ma di certo penso sia il più adatto sulla piazza per adattare fumetti e storie di impronta morrisoniana. E questo non vale solo per l'azzurrone, ma anche per Batman, Lanterna Verde, e in generale anche maxi-eventi che potranno far convergere i vari personaggi e le storyline a livello terrestre/cosmico, ecc.

Quindi, per ora voto la fiducia

Potrebbe anche farcela su Supes, ho molti più dubbi sulla roba Morrisoniana, ma sarebbe tosta per chiunque francamente...

Piuttosto ritengo che sia la persona migliore per gestire tutta la merdata WB che è diventata in questi anni.

Si sta beccando un sacco di merda, solo che lui non si fa problemi a tenere tutti sotto schiaffo, quindi certe cazzate dei siti clickbaiters non reggono, poi vabbe che Zaslav gli ha dato completo potere e carta bianca, questo certamente aiuta.

Ultimamente sta parlando dei castings, io per ora sono a bordo, ma tanto dipende anche da chi prenderà, non lo nascondo.

Boh, Gunn e Morrison li vedo tipo agli antipodi come narrazione.

Gunn lo vedo più vicino a Johns con un lavoro che punta più al rapporto emozionale tra le persone , cosa che in Morrison è quasi secondaria rispetto all'eposizione di concetti più astratti su temi quali magia del caos, l'archetipo del super-essere e cose così

Per dire un Nolan è più vicino a Morrison anche per l'uso di una narrazione non lineare, tra le altre cose

Che poi, "cerchiamo qualcosa che accontenti tutti", come se Morrison non fosse divisivo...

P.S: a scanso di equivoci a me Morrison fa (quasi sempre) impazzire e una sua trasposizione mi piacerebbe. Però ce lo voglio vedere Gunn a fare qualcosa tipo Arkham Asylum o Black Glove/Rip o Final Crisis (che poi era la cosa più vicina all'idea di JL2 di Snyder) o qualcosa di cervellotico tipo Multiversity o Return of Bruce Wayne.
