MARVEL's Summer X-MEN Event X OF SWORDS Revealed - C2E2 '20

Marvel Comics has announced its long teased summer 2020 X-Men event as X of Swords.

The announcement was made at Marvel's X-Men panel during C2E2 2020, following yesterday's teaser . The 15-part event's full plot is not yet revealed, but in the story 10 mutants will wield legendary swords from the Marvel Universe - some of which may already have their own reputations - against a mysterious threat.

X-Men writer Jonathan Hickman and Excalibur writer Tini Howard will head up X of Swords, with other writers from the 'Dawn of X' line also contributing.

The title X of Swords, which Hickman said had been coined by Howard,  may also hint at the story's themes. Beyond the obvious connection to ten mutants wielding ten swords, the title, pronounced "Ten of Swords", may refer to the 'Ten of Swords' Tarot card - which, in the parlance of Tarot fortune telling, indicates abject disaster and ruin. And of course, when read literally, "X of Swords" resembles the expression "crossing swords" - a literal clash of blades.

Hickman: For the most part is you're doing a book in a vacuum. But with the X-Men books, it's not like that. We have a slack, it's organic. One of the cool things is using that mechanism in play. We have some stuff coming up. We have a thing in December that we're excited about, but can't talk about.

X-OF SWORDS is an "old school" crossover. And Hickman said Tini Howard came up with the name.

Hickman: Tini and I are writing big chunks of it as landmarks, then the other issues fill stuff in.

They can't say who's drawing it yet. First look at the story begins in the Free Comic Book Day: X-Men, which is being drawn by Pepe Larraz.

Onestamente non m'ispira molto questo crossoverone, poi vedremo...sembra molto forzato, e sembra essere nato solo per legare le varie testate mutanti giusto per...boostare le vendite i guess...
Sicuramente non deriva dalla mente di Hickman, ma a quanto pare da Tini Howard, writer di Excalibur, guarda caso proprio la testata per cui sto perdendo interesse.

Nah, per me sarà una roba filler, poi mai dire mai, Hickman è bravo a prendere la palla al balzo e piazzare le sue idee per rendere tutto piccante, così come fa da una vita con i plot/pg di Bendis, quello che farà col nuovo evento Marvel Empyre i guess e ora questo crossover.
Probabilmente saranno interessanti solo le conseguenze e stop.

Io aspetto l'evento di Hickman, quello verso fine 2020.

X OF SWORDS: CREATION #1 Launches The Next Big X-MEN Story

Marvel Comics has announced X of Swords: Creation #1, which kicks off the X-Men's next big crossover X of Swords in September.

The cover, seen here, shows some of the mutants who will wield ten powerful blades and bears the slogan "Raise your swords..."

X of Swords: Creation #1 is written by X of Swords (pronounced "Ten of Swords") writers Jonathan Hickman and Tini Howard with art and cover from Pepe Larraz.

X-Men line editor Jordan D. White spoke to Newsarama about what to expect from the event earlier this year, calling it the "craziest X-Men story ever."

Ci sono testate che non fanno in tempo a sfornare 5 numeri e fanno già parte di un crossoverone.
Tutto questo quando l'industria dei comics è nella merda per via del covid senza parlare del casino con Diamond e balle varie.
