To be honest, I don't much care for superheroes or super-villains, although I was a big fan when I was a teenager. I liked to think of Batman as the kind of hero any one of us could have become – if our parents had been murdered before our eyes and we devoted our entire lives to helping save other innocents from the same fate!

For that reason, I don't like to see Batman when he's used, for instance, in the Justice League – even though the JLA would be unthinkable without him – or even in Superman tales. I always preferred to see Batman working on his own, the true Dark Knight of Gotham City.

Leggere questa intervista a Grant mi ha fatto capire quale è il Pipistrello che davvero preferisco: quello legato al suo ambiente e a Gotham, che, al pari di tutti gli altri villains e personaggi dell'universo batmaniano, ha una propria anima e una propria identità.
