The first issue of this Secret Wars tie-in showed ample promise, but it was too unfocused for its own good. The story evens out somewhat in issue #2, as writer James Robinson makes it more clear this is really a tale of a ragtag group of humans fighting for survival against both titular groups of villains. This issue certainly establishes the stakes, though it spends a little too much time exploring the history of Salvation's defenders and poking fun at Hank Pym's "Aw, shucks!" shtick than fleshing out either Ultron's faction or the Marvel Zombies. Still, the book is entertaining and casts a wide net in terms of Battleworld players. 1602's Punisher is so amusing it's a shame he didn't get his own comic. This series also looks great, with Steve Pugh's art comfortably at home regardless of setting or characters. -Jesse
