E' il capolavoro di Johns, il suo apice. Davvero, neanche Claremont su Magneto ha fatto quel che sta facendo Johns su Sinestro, ma neanche lontanamente.
E parliamo di un altro apice.
Non so veramente come si faccia a non inserire GL, tutta la gestione Johns, fra gli imprescindibili del fumetto mainstream.
E Mahnke migliora pagina dopo pagina. In questo numero è PAZZESCO. Miglior serie attualmente in circolazione

Hal Jordan and Sinestro are at the mercy of the Indigo Tribe. The two Green Lanterns have to figure a way out since their power levels are low.
We're starting to find out even more of the Indigo Tribe's secrets. Whether or not Hal and Sinestro survive to find them out remains to be seen.

The Good
I've mentioned how this is my favorite Green Lantern series. There was a slight pause in the action but now we're getting back to what we want and expect. Since the Indigo Tribe made their first appearance and the mention that their leader, Indigo-1, has a tie to Abin Sur, we've been left wondering what's going on. Now they have targeted Sinestro in order to convert him and teach him compassion. Hal went along for the ride but how much help can he be without a power battery?

The combination of Geoff Johns' story and Doug Mahnke's is the perfect blend in dishing out the tidbits about the Indigo Tribe. We're seeing Sinestro in a situation we haven't seen before. Of course the colors by Alex Sinclair are phenomenal. Mahnke's one of the few artists that can tell so much in a single panel focusing just on a character's eye.

Along the way, we do get to find out more details and they will whet your appetite and keep you in suspense for what comes next. As usual, Johns teases us with each tiny revelation that makes you wonder what the heck has been going on all this time.

The Bad
There are some moments where it starts to feel we're getting too much 'new stuff' thrown at us. We are in the "New 52" so it's possible for new details to the mythos of the Lanterns to be created. Hal is also in an interesting place. He hates Sinestro. Last issue he wanted nothing to do with him yet he will do the right thing and try to save him. Sure Hal is a hero and there is a tiny mention as to why Hal is risking it all to save him. I just wonder how long this relationship will last between the two.

The Verdict
This is what we've been waiting for. Since the relaunch, we've been getting tiny bits of new information on Sinestro and the Green Lanterns. There was a slight pause in the action but the series is back on track and we're starting to get some answers. Johns and Mahnke (along with Sinclair) make this a great read with all the details, action and suspense. This is a title I look forward to month after month. The door to a bigger world is being opened and it's going to be great when we see what else Johns has planned for the characters and GL world.

Il paragone è calzante, Sinestro è uno dei personaggi meglio scritti da Johns di sempre.
Non sono d'accordo con il paragone del Magneto claremontiano (parliamo del Calremont fino al '91, dopo per me non esiste): quello non si batte IMHO, e bastano due sole storie: Uncanny X-Men #274-275 (Crocevia e Il sentiero mai intrapreso). C'è tutto Magneto lì. La sua impossibilità nell'essere come Xavier, la sua rabbia, il suo orgoglio.
Ma forse parlo così perché Magneto è tra i 5 personaggi che più adoro in assoluto.
Tornando in topic: ottimo numero l'ultimo di Green Lantern, ripeto, Sinestro grandissimo personaggio.
