A me piace la variant di Nguyen

Letto. In generale, mi è piaciuto di più di Det Com 1000, di sicuro prenderò anche il cartaceo in italiano.
Si parte con "A Little Nudge", la mia preferita fra le storie di questo speciale. Wolfman ci offre un'ultima versione dello scioglimento del Dinamic Duo, finora la migliore che abbia letto. Resta il non detto, che funziona ancora come base per le incomprensioni future, dalla morte di Jason all'arco di Prodigal, ma scompare tutta l'amarezza delle altre versioni. Spero che questa diventi la versione definitiva.
Segue "Aftershock": Dixon gioca su una storia semplice, calata nel contesto di No Man's Land. Niente di eccezionale, ma gradevole.
"Team Building" è un ritorno ai Titans di Grayson, e mai come ora mi rendo conto di quanto mi siano mancati. Il colpo di scena è ben gestito, il finale troppo semplicistico, sinceramente. Ci voleva poco per renderlo più credibile, ma il solo rivedere i miei amati Titans in azione vale il prezzo del biglietto.
"The Lesson Plan" è l'ultima parte dell'evoluzione di Dick, e ritorna il suo rapporto con Batman e tutto ciò che gli ha insegnato. Storia piacevole, con un colpo di scena interessante. Peccato che il supporting cast e lo stesso concept di Grayson non sia sopravvissuto alla gestione Seeley, c'è ancora tanto potenziale.
Con "More Time" passiamo a Jason, con una storia dolce e semplice, fra le più belle del volume. I disegni di Nguyen rendono il piccolo Jason/Robin ancora più adorabile. Winick resta il mio preferito, quando si tratta di Red Hood.
"Extra Credit" è la peggiore del volume: banale, noiosa, inutile.
Per fortuna ci pensa Tynion con "Boy Wonders" a fare giustizia del personaggio di Tim. Ottimo prequel alla sua run di Detective Comics, e ottima caratterizzazione dei personaggi. Poi i disegni di Fernandez sono il valore aggiunto!
"Fitting In" è una storia brillante, che coglie in pieno l'essenza di Steph e getta una buona luce sul suo periodo come Robin.
"My Best Friend" sono i Supersons in tutto il loro splendore. Al secondo posto fra le mie preferite, anche qui vedo tanto potenziale che è stato sprecato.
Infine, "Bat and mouse". L'attendevo con ansia, per avere un'idea di cosa Thompson farà con i Teen Titans, ma non mi ha convinta. Troppo cupa, con troppo contrasto e incomprensioni fra Bruce e Damian. Spero che sia solo temporaneo. Comunque, una storia sospesa, che funziona solo come prequel.

The not-always-a-Boy Wonder is 80 years old, and DC has put together a loving tribute to the most popular sidekick in comics history. It doesn't matter which main continuity Robin is your favorite, they are all accounted for here, with work from Marv Wolfman, Devin Grayson, James Tynion IV, Judd Winick, Damion Scott, Ramon Villalobos, Tom Grummett, and more. It's not a perfect anthology, but it's not meant to be. It's meant to showcase these creators' love for the character and Robin's legacy in the DCU.

I won't get too into the specifics of each story. Robin has been through so many permutations over the years that not every approach will work for every reader. The Dick Grayson sections by Judd Winick and Chuck Dixon, for example, don't really hit for me despite their massive success with the character. However, the Tom King and Tim Seeley-scribed Agent 37 tale with Mikel Janin delivers a tight story with some of Janin's best art in years. Meanwhile, Devin Grayson and Dan Jurgen's story feels like a story that works around the character of Nightwing rather than really engaging with him, but it's a fun nod to his history with the Titans.

While Dick Grayson gets the lion's share of the real estate as the 80th birthday boy, the anthology also takes time to give a shout-out to his successors, as well. Judd Winick and Dustin Nguyen deliver arguably the best story in the collection, a heartwrencher about Jason Todd that really sums up his relationship to Batman and the Bat-Family, given that Jason was the first person to really have to grapple with the Robin legacy as well as Dick Grayson's sizable shadow. James Tynion IV and Javier Fernandez's story takes a look at the legacy through Tim Drake's eyes, and probably does the best at taking (sorry) a birds' eye view of what it means to be a Robin and how a character as unique as Tim Drake finds his place amidst characters who have forged their own paths.

With the first three Robins getting fairly traditional stories, the final three installments of this anthology take some of the wildest swings in terms of art style. Amy Wolfram and Damion Scott check in on the origins of Stephanie Brown's costume, which provides a nice bit of levity to go along with Scott's cartoony and hyper-exaggerated art. Two other stylistic highlights include Peter J. Tomasi and Jorge Jimenez showing how Damian Wayne's friendship with Jonathan Kent has defined the modern Robin dynamic with some truly beautiful and compelling visuals, while Robbie Thompson and Ramon Villalobos provide their own tribute to Damian's complicated relationship with his father, given additional ambiguity and intensity thanks to Villalobos' quirky style.

All in all, this is an effective anthology that showcases these creators' talents and the different eras of Robin. Not every story is going to be for every reader — there's not a huge showing for Stephanie or Jason Todd, for example, while Carrie Kelly only gets a pin-up — but I'm sure most fans won't be upset by these portrayals. Comics are so much about our relationships with the characters that we love. But strangely, sometimes it's hard to pinpoint why we love them. This anthology does a good job of trying to get to the heart of each of these Robins, and it makes for a solid Wednesday read.

Damn, per quanto mi riguarda, non c'era modo migliore per aprire il numero.
Fantastica idea di mettere questa storia di Wolfman...e che storia!
Il pg di Dick deve un mondo a lui e questa parte della vita di Robin era...importantissima.

"Aftershocks"
Seconda storia che praticamente conferma l'intenzione del one-shot, il target sono i lettori pre-reboot, pochi cazzi.
And i dig it.

"Team Building"
Titans story, d'altronde anche qua abbiamo una Robin Legacy, anche se qua si parla di Nightwing, ma non sembrano limitati da questo dettaglio, niente di che tho.

"The Lesson Plan"
Agent 37 is BACK! Absolutely BASED!
Storia bellissima e in perfetto stile "Grayson"!
Altro che Bendis col suo cazz di Leviathan, QUESTA era la vera Legacy del Batman Inc. di Morry!
Nata dalle ceneri del Forever Evil di Geoff, Spyral, Leviathan, Oroboro, Bond ahhh quanto mi mancava.... :')

"More Time"
Maaaan....porca merda...storia semplice, ma che va dritta al cuore...
Ya know...riavere Winick non sarebbe affatto male.
E poi qua abbiamo anche Nguyen alle matite! Ormai disegna solo per bambini e....beh, anche qui dai...

"Extra Credit"
Dopo Dick e Jason, passiamo ad una piccola storia con Tim e non mi ha detto molto francamente, nemmeno le matite erano di mio gusto.

"Boy Wonders"
Questa invece è una storia degna di Tim, d'altronde è scritta da un suo grande fan, ovvero Tynion!
Ma in realtà ha fatto un bellissimo lavoro a scrivere anche tutti gli altri Robin, legare la storia col suo Det Com di Rebirth e niente...vorrei riavere questi momenti.
Questo Det Com, per Dick vorrei riavere "Grayson" e così via...
Ottime matite.

"Fitting In"
Steph come Robin e thumbs down per me, sia per la storia che per le matite, Rao mio...

"My Best Friend"
ECCO un'altra cosa che vorrei riavere, i Super Sons!!!
Tomasi colpisce ancora con una storia WHOLESOME, è il numero 1, basta.

"Bat and Mouse"
Ultima storia, non vado mai matto per Robbie Thompson, però qua mi è piaciuto molto.
Molto belle anche le matite, questo Villalobos mi ricorda molto Burnham.

Onestamente è uno dei migliori specials DC, ma ancora una volta rimpiango di non avere una storia scritta da Morry ed è qualcosa che dico da...boh, tipo AC #1000.
È un writer che ha dato tanto in casa DC.
Sono sicuro che avrebbe scritto una storia Damian-centrica, passato-presente e futuro, da Batman e Figlio, Batman & Robin fino a Batman of Bethlehem.
Così come, Miller avrebbe scritto una su Carrie...diamine ci stava di brutto.

Ora vediamo cosa faranno con Joker e Catwoman.

Tomasi colpisce ancora con una storia WHOLESOME, è il numero 1, basta.

Ho iniziato questo speciale (finalmente).

"A little Nudge" di Wolfman/Grummett
Bella storia, concordo con voi quando dite che non ci poteva essere storia migliore per iniziare questo anniversario.
Questi autori avevano gia' lavorato insieme su "A Lonely Place of Dying".
Grummett ha disegnato anche a lungo la prima serie di Robin con protagonista Tim Drake, ho amato questo disegnatore, e' stato un piacere rivederlo all'opera.
Lunga vita a Robin e Dick Grayson!

Dixon/McDaniel ho amato il loro ciclo e questa breve storia mette in risalto la bonta' di Dick.

"Team Building"
Un giorno vorrei leggere la gestione di Devin Grayson, solo solo per leggere la sequenza dove Dick viene molestato da Tarantula.
Questa breve storia mette in risalto il lato solare di Dick

"The Lesson Plan"
Seeley/King, rivediamo Dick Grayson nei panni dell'Agent 37.
Bella questa storia su come Dick ricorda gli insegnamenti ricevuto da Batman e li adatta alla sua personalita', non e' che sempre si puo' seguire il manuale d'istruzione alla lettera

"More Time"
Winick e' lo scrittore d'eccellenza di Jason, uno spettacolo questa storia

"Extra Credit"
Beechen non e' sicuramente lo scrittore migliore di Tim, e Williams II e' sicuramente il peggiore, da quello che io ricordo. Questa probabilmente e' la meno bella di tutte.

"Boy Wonders"
Questa e' bella, Tynion IV esalta il personaggio, mi e' piaciuta questa storia, oltre a rendere giustizia all'intelligenza di Tim, esalta la sua umilta'. Belli i disegni di Fernandez 

"Fitting In"
Disegni indegni ma la storia di Wolfram ci sta, anche se non e' nulla di che.

"My Best Friend"
Bellissima, Tomasi scrive questi due con una tale amore e naturalezza che non ha rivali.

"Bat and Mouse"
Thompson/Villalobos che fino alla fine ho scambiato per Burnham.
La storia rispecchia al 100% il rapporto conflittuale tra padre e figlio.
Palese che il segreto che Robin nasconde

Ho apprezzato questo volumetto, un degno omaggio alla figura di Robin, un ruolo che diversi hanno indossato.
