Lei probabilmente se ne è andata di suo, fingendo il suicidio.

Batman ha scoperto tutto dopo, e quindi solo a quel punto sarà intervenuto dando fondi e mezzi perchè rimanesse nascosta.

...e se davvero, come penso, c'è il Criminal dietro alla nascita del Comedian, potrebbe essere che la finta morte sia stata orchestrata da lui stesso, e che poi si sia semplicemente disinteressato della famiglia del Comedian (e quel punto, sarebbe subentrato Bruce)

...o cmq potrebbe essere un mix di varie cose.

Johns non crea nessuna origin story per i suoi 3 Joker. Semplicemente per uno di essi usa quella già fatta da Moore.

Il resto lo lascia nell'ombra.

Volutamente e giustamente: si parla del Joker e non tutto deve essere spiegato.

Semplicemente, Johns rende Bruce pari a noi lettori, cioè a conoscenza degli eventi di TKJ.

Quindi alla fine mi ha convinto? Su questo punto non ho cambiato idea. La storia mi è piaciuta, ma il finale mi ha un po' smorzato l'entusiasmo(e credo che il mio hype fosse abbastanza chiaro XD).

I understand from well-placed sources that Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok are creating a one-shot sequel to DC Comic's biggest selling comic book of 2020, Batman: The Three Jokers. And that will be an integral part of the new DC Omniverse that Bleeding Cool has been scooping the news on in recent weeks.
All those questions you had about Batman: The Three Jokers' place in continuity? Looks like it – and Doomsday Clock – were the vanguard for what is coming with the DC Omniverse. Any story, any character, any time, has its place. A shared history but infinite possibilities going forward. I've been reporting that DC Comics will have a DC Omniverse Special in March — whatever it will be called — to set this all up.

We know very little about it save for two words, and this may speak to its place in the aforementioned DC Omniverse. Those words? "Batman Universe". Let the speculation begin, I certainly have ideas.
