Letto. Fumetto molto bello. In quattro capitoli Ann Nocenti delinea bene passato e presente di Ruby Falls, cittadina dal passato legato alle miniere e dal presente legato alla morte di piccole attività, fagocitate da centri commerciali e servizi online. C'è un vecchio mistero da risolvere, che torna a galla grazie ai lampi di memoria di una signora anziana con la demenza senile. Al contempo sua nipote mette in dubbio se stessa e i propri ricordi mentre cerca di chiudere il caso e dare una direzione alla propria vita.
È una storia interessante e coinvolgente, che cresce a mano a mano. Flavia Biondi è brava a disegnare sia i personaggi che le ambientazioni. In particolare è suggestiva la miniera, che viene valorizzata dai colori di Lee Loughridge.
Ci sono delle vignette in cui i fatti vengono inquadrati attraverso le lenti degli occhiali di un'insegna. Mi è venuto in mente il cartellone con gli occhi del Dr. T. J. Eckleburg del Grande Gatsby.
