DC has had a problem in recent months of throwing too many artists at a book in order for that issue to make a deadline. Batgirl #49 uses no less than 6 artists to tell this regular-sized story, and yet, the series doesn't miss a beat for it. In fact, it's possibly better because of it. Cameron Stewart and Brenden Fletcher are telling a story in this issue that's somehow both the most uncomfortable/squeamish superhero story this side of Jessica Jones and also a fun Silver Age idea. The Fugue has corrupted and rewritten Barbara Gordon's mind and the only one who can save her is Barbara Gordon's own evil artificial intelligence. The all-star artistic cast doesn't always mesh, but they're all incredible on their own, and any jarring switches in art style helps ratchet up the tension and feeling of unease. This is a wonderful story to take advantage of the multiple artists concept. -Levi

Batgirl #49 (Published by DC Comics; Review by David Pepose; 'Rama Rating: 10 out of 10):

Nothing from the Big Two this week has been as ambitious as Batgirl #49, a jam session of five different artists as Frankie fights the Fugue for Barbara Gordon's mind and soul. Taking place largely in a twisted mindscape of Batgirl's vandalized memories, Cameron Stewart and Brenden Fletcher absolutely go above and beyond here - there's a craziness to the pacing that works only because of this mental milieu, switching between visual styles like the shuffling of an iPod. Babs Tarr anchors this book to its cartoony standard setting, but there are some real standouts here, particularly a splash page from James Harvey that makes me want him on an ongoing book yesterday. This issue ties together so many wonderful threads from previous issues, and I really cannot say enough good things about it. Kudos to the entire team for having the vision and the guts to pull this one off.

The Killing Joke Was Never Meant To Be Part Of DC Continuity – And Now It No Longer Is
http://www.bleedingcool.com/2016/03/08/the-killing-joke-was-never-meant-to-be-part-of-dc-continuity-and-now-it-no-longer-is/

Togliere dalla continuity TJK, no?
Posso capire perchè lo hanno fatto eh, ma era davvero così penosa? Barbara ha subito e superato una tragedia...bho dava spessore al pg... :look:

No one wanted to see the creative team run of Cameron Stewart, Brenden Fletcher, and Babs Tar on Batgirl come to end, but if it had to end - this was the way to do it. Batgirl #50 is an oversized, non-stop thrill ride of a comic book. The creators bring all of Batgirls friends and enemies back together again for one big, fun send off. It goes to show what an unbelievable job of world building the creators did over their run. Better yet, they bring in an all-star cast of guest artists to prolong the fun. Babs Tarr is joined by Roger Robinson, John Timms, Eleonaroa Carlini, and James Harvey in a cover-to-cover gorgeously illustrated book. You won't have any more fun this week in comic books than you will with Batgirl #50. –Levi

While the core Batgirl creative team wrapped up their run with issue #50, Brenden Fletcher is sticking around to help transition Barbara Gordon into her DC Rebirth status quo. This short epilogue arc isn't necessarily remarkable because of its villain (a minor footnote compared to the likes of Fugue, really), but rather in how it celebrates the ensemble cast the series has built up over the past couple years. Fletcher is great about highlighting the increasingly chaotic nature of Babs' life and allowing her support system to come to the rescue. Fletcher's script reads like both a fond farewell to one phase of Batgirl's life and an optimistic welcome to the next. And though artist Babs Tarr has departed, the trio of artist handling this issue manage to achieve a cohesive look that echoes Tarr's work while opting for a slightly more naturalistic approach. Having colorist Sergio Lapointe still on board helps maintain a degree of visual consistency, as well. -Jesse

Batgirl #51 (Published by DC Comics; Review by Richard Gray; 'Rama Rating: 7 out of 10):

After what felt like a fitting conclusion to the "New 52"/ "DC You" era of last month, Brenden Fletcher has the slightly more awkward task of slotting in his version of Batgirl into the pre-Rebirth world. It feels like the start of something new entirely, perhaps due to the newer art team of Eleonora Carlini, Minkyu Jung and Roger Robinson. It takes on the more heightened elements of a drama manga throughout the first half, albeit with some killer dynamic fight scenes in the second act. With cameos galore from Fletcher's other DC titles, it's most definitely setting up the team aspect to Batgirl's future adventures, with Babs coming to a decision to take a lengthy trip. Handy hint: for those of you reading both Black Canary and Batgirl, it's best to read this one after the former to get a bit of perspective on the various comings and goings of the supporting characters.
