If nothing else, Green Arrow #30 needs to come out now so we can find out how Oliver's going to get out of this one. While the creative decision to make the Outsiders an expansive organization brings up questions as to how it interacts with similar organizations like the League of Assassins, writer Jeff Lemire runs with it and goes all out to give us an action-packed and exciting issue. Upping the stakes by having the rest of the clans' payloads still active, we get so invested in the story at that point because we care about these characters and we desperately want to see how Oliver stops them. Artist Andrea Sorrentino is so on point this issue, getting extremely creative with panel layouts that make the visuals as worthwhile as the narrative, particularly in the two-page spread where Oliver gets caught. Sorrentino uses the architecture of the cathedral to break up the panels and it looks absolutely stunning.

Dopo aver letto l'ultimo numero non riesco ad immaginare questa testata senza Lemire e Sorrentino
Spero che anche questo team possa toccare il numero 50+ come Snyder & Capullo

The Outsiders war is coming to a head, and Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino continue their upward trajectory for Green Arrow. There's a decent amount of exposition here, as Lemire has to explain the various weapon-based clans (not to mention Oliver Queen's increasingly complicated relationship with his thought-to-be dead father), but there's some emotional content being built up. (That said, it's not always perfect - the inclusion of Katana from Justice League of America, for example, feels like a non-starter.) But it's artist Andrea Sorrentino, along with colorist Marcelo Maiolo, that really makes this book stand out, particularly a double-page splash through a window that cuts across the pages with shard-like panels. Sorrentino's inkwork is a little rough, and sometimes he has a goofy moment here or there (like suddenly zooming into someone's heart as it's pierced with an arrow, which makes a dramatic scene suddenly hilarious). Still, the ambitious artwork and plot make this one of DC's best books.

Ho appena letto il primo TP di questa run, cavolo è anni luce dalla genstione precedente ( ), una delle cose migliori che ho letto ultimamente. Azione, colpi di scena, mistero, e poi un Sorrentino veramente spettacolare, non vedo l'ora di proseguire nella lettura
