"Gotham City Impostors" Invade in January



Prepare to lock and load, because the Batmen and the Jokerz are preparing to take over the city. WB Games has announced that "Gotham City Impostors," a multiplayer first-person shooter game based loosely around the Batman universe, will arrive for download on PC, Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network on January 10, 2012. The game should sell for $14.99, or 1200 Microsoft points, respectively.

To get players prepared for the upcoming multiplayer sessions, WB has also announced it will be launching its open beta in December for all platforms. This beta will let players test the game out early, complete with all its gadgets and character customization options. Registration for the beta is still open, simply head to the official site -- www.gothamcityimpostors.com/beta -- and sign up!

"Gotham City Impostors" is an original download-only first-person shooter where up to 12 players battle for control of an unhinged Gotham City overrun by Impostors inspired by the DC Comics characters Batman and The Joker. Gotham City Impostors is an online multiplayer game unlike any other, giving players the opportunity to engage in unconventional urbane warfare as they personalize their own Impostors. Gamers will create their very own version of the Bats or the Jokerz characters using unprecedented customization options including insane costumes, homemade gadgets and a wide range of traditional and inventive weapons. The game will feature maps and modes inspired by DC Comics' Batman license.

Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment today announced the launch of Gotham City Impostors, an original, download only, multiplayer first-person shooter from Monolith Productions for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Windows PC.

Gotham City Impostors allows up to 12 players to battle for control of an unhinged Gotham City overrun by Impostors inspired by the DC Comics characters Batman and The Joker. The game can be purchased for 1200 Microsoft Points in the Xbox LIVE® Marketplace for Xbox 360, and for $14.99 in the PlayStation®Network, as well as for PC via the Games for Windows LIVE Marketplace, Steam®, Origin, GameStop's 'Impulse Driven' download store and other leading digital resellers.

Players can engage in deliriously fast paced, uniquely vertical, and completely unconventional urban warfare where progress supports leveling up and access to a mind-boggling array of customization options. Unlock new Bats or Jokerz costumes and build your own specific loadout from a huge assortment of traditional and homebrew weaponry, equipment, and perks. Gadgets such as the Glider Rig, Grappling Hook, and Spring Boots give gamers unprecedented mobility options, while support items like the Bear Traps, Boomerang, and Body Armor open up new tactical options.

The game features five maps and four modes inspired by DC Comics' Batman license.  The maps include Crime Alley, Amusement Mile, Ace Chemical, The Docks and Gotham Power.  Gamers can choose from several gameplay modes – Team Deathmatch, Fumigation or Psych Warfare modes – and engage in all-out combat, or they can choose the Challenges mode, a single-player mode that allows players to safely explore the different maps and practice using different weapons, support items and gadgets.

A free downloadable content pack will be available in March.  It will include a new "25th Floor" map, as well as over 100 new customization options including weapons, support items, costumes and calling card elements.

Sinceramente mi aspettavo MOOOOOLTO di più da questo gioco... Io fossi in Bat mi incavolerei non poco... veder deturpata in siffatta maniera la mia effige...   

E' un gioco che va preso con il giusto spirito...

Mah... secondo me con una gestione migliore dei punti di respawn sarebbe già stato meglio!
Poi alcune mappe son davvero troppo piccole...  Insomma... non mi è proprio piaciuto!
