Newsrama la inserisce al primo posto tra le serie da leggere nel 2012, pur specificando che mancano annunci ufficiali:

MULTIVERSITY

This isn't the first time Multiversity has made our list, but hopefully it'll be the last. Talked about for several years in interviews by Grant Morrison, 2012 could finally be the year all the pieces fall into place. Described as a world tour of the 52 universes of DC's Multiverse, this eight-issue series promises six standalone issues spotlighting a different universe in each outing, with two issues acting to tie the whole series -- and the whole Multiverse -- together.

Rumored artists for this epic project including Morrison stalwarts like Frank Quitely and Cameron Stewart, drawing worlds including the Charlton heroes (on which Watchmen was based) and Captain Marvel's Thunder World. There's been no official art released as of yet, but this intriguing pin-up from Wizard by Art Adams that's been kicking around for a few years will give you a taste as to what you could potentially expect.

It was the double punch of Jupiter's Children and Happy that seems to have done it.

Frank Quitely and Grant Morrison, creators who had worked for DC on the monster hit All Star Superman, Flex Mentallo and We3 and currently working on one of the Multiversity issues together.

And suddenly Frank Quitely is working with Mark Millar on Jupiter's Children from Image. A twelve issue series.

And then before you know it, Grant Morrison is working with Darick Robertson  on Happy from Image.

Non è una news ma aiuta a fare il punto della situazione.
Chi era che diceva che dopotutto gli altri progetti dei creatori non erano un problema visto che Quitely aveva poco da disegnare?
Quitely si è lanciato su una serie da dodici numeri.
Morrison ha capito che forse a lavorare in creator-owned fai più soldi e hai più libertà (supposizioni mie anche se non penso siano molto distanti dalla verità).
Il tutto ha avuto aggiornamenti più recenti di Multiversity... Che ne sarà di quest'ultima?

Morrison ha la più completa libertà da quando è tornato in DC  

Comunque Quitely su Multiversity doveva disegnare solo un numero.... Può darsi che l'abbia già concluso e che si sia passati al secondo numero....... mi ricordo che dissero di voler annunciare i preorder di Multiversity, quando avevano un numero consistente di numeri già scritti e disegnati, per evitare ritardi e problemi simili...

Eh vabbè, se non fanno soldi come Morrison (e Millar) oggi come oggi non li fa nessuno e poi eventualmente hanno anche i diritti per i film -anche se questo vale più per le caciaronate alla Millar.
Un conto è la libertà di scrivere Batman come ti pare, un altro è decidere di lanciare un nuovo progetto... Perchè farlo alla Vertigo quando puoi farlo alla Image?
Io la vedo nera, se volevano annunciare un pre-order e poi non l'hanno fatto qualcosa dev'essere andato storto, il silenzio di questi ultimi tempi (complice reboot e Before Watchmen magari anche alla DC gliene frega relativamente poco) mi fa pensare a una posizione di stallo.

Questo spezzone è tratto da un articolo/intervista a Quitely fatta il 26 ottobre 2011:

Bringing up a page on the screen, Quitely discussed the problem-solving aspect of his work which he says often takes as much time as the actual drawing. The images on the screen, from Grant Morrison's upcoming "Multiversity" series, all had something more complicated about them than your average comics page. In a page split into three horizontal panels, two characters walk down a flight of stairs: in the first panel they walk left to right, in the second they walk right to left, and in the third they walk left to right again. The middle panel, therefore, has them walking against the normal flow of a page.

"When I got the script in for this, I wasn't really happy about it because it's a real bugbear of mine when things go the wrong way," Quitely explained. "But the script itself was echoing what was actually going on -- they were talking about things going backwards, or going into reverse, or something like that."

Consequently, Quitely told us, these pages took a lot longer than usual to actually work out before he got past the initial page layout stage.

"Having said that," Quitely continued, "one of the problems was there was a wee bit of performance anxiety involved in this. The comic that that was for is called 'Pax Americana' -- this is this 'Multiversity' thing that Grant Morrison's writing. He's getting a bunch of different artists each to do one of these books, and the one that I'm doing is the Charlton characters. These were old comic book characters that the publisher, DC [Comics], acquired years ago. The most famous comic, called 'Watchmen,' it's based on them, these characters. But because a couple of them died in the story, DC wouldn't let him [Moore] use the actual Charlton characters so they [Moore and Gibbons] made their own versions of them.

Non me ne può fregar di meno della stupidità eventuale di questo fumetto, io sono un fanboy dei dinosauri da quando avevo 4 anni, lo DEVO avere.

Io rimango dell'idea che Multiversity era un progetto legato al Quinto Mondo e quindi al post-Crisi Finale.
Poi si è deciso - ovviamente con grandissima pianificazione, tutto deciso mesi e mesi prima, ovviamente - di fare il reboot e Multiversity è andato in soffitta, in attesa che - sempre con grande pianificazione - ci si inventi l'ennedimo crossover che può farlo riciccare fuori...

nah non penso che c'entri il reboot, l'intervista di Quitely è di ottobre e aveva portato delle pagine di Multiversity......

Il progetto è fermo per i vari progetti di entrambi gli scrittori, pure Inc ha subito ritardi su ritardi a causa di Morry

Anzi lo annuncerei al Comicon di quest'anno per il tardo 2013, tanto tra reboot e BW, il 2012 è già ricco
