Warner Bros. Discovery is diving into the animated world with an ambitious project centered on one of DC Comics' most iconic storylines.

Jeff Wamester, celebrated for his work in the Tomorrowverse series, is taking the helm of a new animated trilogy inspired by Batman: Knightfall.

This is an exciting moment for fans, as the Knightfall saga has never been fully adapted into animation or film despite its pivotal place in Batman's legacy.

The trilogy's first installment, titled Batman: Knightfall: Part 1, was recently registered on the Entertainment Identifier Registry (Eidr), a database that catalogs audiovisual content.

Originally slated for a 2024 release with a one-hour runtime, these details may shift, as Warner Bros. often opts for longer formats, with previous films exceeding 80 minutes.

Batman: Knightfall is best known for the dramatic showdown where Bane breaks Batman's back, a scene etched into pop culture and famously reimagined in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises.

Io mi chiedo come possono introdurre villains e sidekicks senza Batman, se questi sono parte del DCU.
Gunn ha detto Clayface nel DCU, e a sto punto direi pure Bane e Deathstroke...mah.

Brave and Bold a sto punto me lo aspetto almeno 2027 sennò mancherà l'eroe principale del suo universo.

Posso capire l'intenzione di fare film anche non necessariamente collegati in questo DCU, ma se mi devi usare comunque lo stesso cast nei ruoli in vari generi di media automaticamente diventa tutto collegato.

Deathstorke non lo definirei parte della rogue gallery del Pipistrello. Potrà essersi confrontato varie volte, ma è un personaggio piuttosto trasversale, che possa godere anche di un film a sé, data la complessità che possa emergere quando è ben scritto (vedasi gestione Priest).

Clayface potrebbe essere anch'egli gestito in maniera autonoma, magari attraverso un film che si affacci al body-horror e con sequenze à la The Substance.

Almeno per la Sony provi pietà perché hanno solo Spidey e sono costretti a sfruttare l'unico IP che hanno, la Marvel un tempo oltre a non avere Spidey non aveva manco i mutanti o F4, ma la WB con la DC?

Personalmente a me la cosa interessa non poco: finalmente un villain della rogue gallery di Batman che non sia un mero umano.

A ciò aggiungiamo il fatto che sia portato su schermo da Flanaghan, dicui abbia sempre sentito un gran bene in ambito horror.

non credo di aver mai nascosto una certa simpatia per i villain con poteri.
Nel caso della Bat-gallery, Freeze rimarrà sempre il mio preferito, ma non lo vedrei portare sulle spalle un film intero.

Con Clayface si ha, secondo me, un maggior margine di manovra.
