La vicenda non è originalissima, però per ora mi diverte. Speriamo che i prossimi numeri siano adrenalinici

Two issues in, Weapon X is still shaping up to be one of the weaker additions to the ResurrXion relaunch. Greg Pak's characterization is strong. The ongoing banter between Old Man Logan and Sabretooth is enjoyable to read, and Pak shows a particularly strong handle on Warpath, the free-spirited hero who can't seem to escape the outside world. But characterization alone only takes a book so far. The revived Weapon X doesn't make for a very compelling threat. There's simply too much about the conflict in this book that feels familiar and played-out. The series also continues to struggle in terms of visuals. Greg Land's heavily photo-referenced art is frequently distracting, though his action scenes are quite a bit stronger this time around. But this issue also suffers from the constant back-and-forth swapping between Land's work and that of guest artist Ibraim Moustafa. It's never a good sign when a series relies on fill-in art this soon. -Jesse

Weapon X #2 (Published by Marvel Comics; Review by Pierce Lydon; 'Rama Rating: 5 out of 10):

Weapon X might be all-new and all-claws, but it has zero stakes and little pacing. Writer Greg Pak is clearly taking his time building to something and I have a feeling that this will lead to the book reading better in trades. But issue to issue, it's a drag. If Pak's conceit wasn't clear in the first issue, he makes it slightly clearer here. Someone's trying to collect the main cast of characters and they're generally succeeding (even if their successes happen inexplicably off-screen). For his part, artist Greg Land actually looks a little bit better here. Other critics here and elsewhere have noted that when he's tasked with drawing stuff that can't be traced, he generally succeeds and that's the case here. (Unless he found some incredible horse robot monster reference, but I doubt it.) Still there's a lack of cohesion between the script and the visual narrative. It's like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. Neither creator is working to their strengths at this point.

Altro numero abbastanza semplice, la testata ha potenziale, specialmente visto il roster.
Già è bello leggere le sequenze tra Logan e Victor, ora abbiamo anche Warpath e mancano solo Domino e Lady Deathstrike!

Stiamo andando un po' piano,  hanno reclutato Domino, ma ora che la storyline proseguirà pure nella testata di Hulk, tutto dovrebbe procedere più in fretta.

Regardless of your feelings about Greg Land's artwork, there's something to appreciate about the way that Greg Pak has so seamlessly given Old Man Logan and Sabretooth an Odd Couple type relationship where they aren't constantly trying to attack each other. It's oddly charming to see them working together to survive a new breed of Weapon X warriors. But the Weapon X series really comes to life with Domino's introduction. Ibraim Roberson's pages with Domino have far more life in them than Land's pages. The action simply flows better when drawn by Roberson, and it's a very good showcase for what Domino can accomplish as a solo heroine. The biggest downside to this issue is that is already leading to crossover with Totally Awesome Hulk, and it feels like that reveal let the air out of the issue. -Blair
