Batman '66 Meets Wonder Woman '77 (USA) di Parker & Andreyko

This series sure is taking its sweet time getting to the actual team-up. As with issue #1, this issue unfolds almost entirely in the WWII-era past, as Wonder Woman fights to save young Bruce Wayne from both the Nazis and the League of Assassins. Only by the very end do co-writers Marc Andreyko and Jeff Parker lay the groundwork for the actual, "present-day" team-up. Still, the flashback is novel, if overly drawn out. It's fun to see both the al Ghuls and Wonder Woman worked into Bruce Wayne's origins. In general, the series continues to combine both franchises into one cohesive whole, one that retains Batman '66's campy charm with a slightly more serious undertone. David Hahn's art is fairly sparse, but expressive enough to capture the charm of Batman '66. Now the the foundation has been established, hopefully the series will only get better as Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince reunite. -Jesse
