While the revelation of Godspeed's identity wasn't exactly an earth-shattering twist, it did allow for this series to finally explore the villain's motivations. And wouldn't you know it, he may actually have a point. All villains think they're right, but the best ones are those whose justifications for their actions actually make sense. And while Godspeed is still a cold-blooded, heartless murderer, the way he challenges Barry and his methods does make for a fairly convincing argument. On top of that, we're inching closer and closer to the new Wally finally taking up the mantle of Rebirth's Kid Flash (for those of you who didn't pick up Teen Titans Rebirth #1, at least). It's nice to see the script on this book finally begin to live up to the level of its art as Carmine Di Giandomenico's kinetic and vibrant work remains the star of this show. - Joe

Eee si conclude questo primo arc e mi è piaciuto molto!
La caratterizzazione di Barry era azzeccata, magari certe scelte dello storytelling erano...telefonate? Poco male, mi è piaciuto lo stesso, meglio qualcosa di scontato che un twist schifoso!
Abbiamo il nuovo Kid Flash e nel prossimo numero incontrerà quello originale!

Sono rimasto soddisfatto di questo primo arc, spero che Williamson cresca ancora di più

As much as this new series has done to reinvigorate Barry Allen and his world, it kind of dropped the ball with the reveal of Godspeed's true identity and motivations. It's not as though learning that Barry's friend Augustus is the man behind the mask is disappointing (it was a pretty obvious twist). The problem is that Augustus has made a hard 180 from sympathetic supporting character to blatant villain. That diminished the impact of this issue, which caps off the current arc with one last showdown between Barry and his remorseless friend. Seeing Augustus written as such a two-dimensionally evil character is a huge disappointment. On the plus side, the Wally West material works far better, setting up a promising new partnership for Barry in the near future. And there's the always winning combination of Carmine Di Giandomenico's art and FCO Plascencia's vivid colors. But when and if Godspeed returns, he's going to need a serious overhaul. -Jesse
