This is it. In Astonishing Ant-Man #9, we finally get to see the long built-up heist issue. It's just as gloriously goofy and awesome as you'd hope it would be. Ant-Man's own Ocean Eleven squad (made up mostly of D-list villains, Superior Foes' Beetle, and two Ant-Man allies) break into Cross Technology to rescue Scott's daughter/steal a bunch of stuff. There are strong dramatic beats here (paying off relationships from Matt Fraction's FF run, or Nick Spencer's own Superior Foes of Spider-Man), wonderfully silly moments (Grizzly wearing his bear suit under his security guard disguise), and it's all brilliantly staged and "acted" with Ramon Rosanas' pencils. This is a highlight issue of one of Marvel's best series. -Levi

Remember all the fun you had reading last issue's goofy Ocean Eleven antics? Well, hopefully you don't, because that will make this issue much more refreshing as it is essentially that same issue over again but with some minor tweaks. Okay, that's not entirely fair, because it is nice to see that the tables have turned and now it's Cassie leading the group to get her dad out of Cross's building. But overall this issue is annoyingly redundant to the series as a whole. The premise, many of the jokes, and the constant "How did Scott wind up in jail?" teases feel recycled. Yet despite that feeling, there are also plenty of payoffs that make the redundancies worthwhile. Scott's relationships with Cassie, Ms. Thing, and Beetle all get paid off in nice ways, while the final reveal is a neat twist. Now we can hopefully move on to a new chapter in this series. – Levi

Astonishing Ant-Man #13 (Published by Marvel Comics; Review by Matthew Sibley; 'Rama Rating: 8 out of 10):

The verdict is in —Astonishing Ant-Man #13 sticks the landing and provides a fitting send-off for Spencer and Rosanas' run on the title. Scott Lang's trial heats up as members of the supporting cast are brought in to testify, and comes together with the Cassie plot which has been bubbling in the background since the series started back in 2015. While the latter has occasionally taken the main focus, here it reaches a crescendo. Joining it with Scott's plot highlights the father/daughter relationship which has been driving the book from the outset and Spencer gets chance to pay it off with the optimistic charm the book has always been stuffed with. Both Rosanas and Schoonover's art is great as always and while they don't get a chance to deliver a truly inventive sequence in terms of paneling, it's crisp and clean as ever, no doubt helped by Jordan Boyd and Wil Quintana's colors, which are just as bright as the ending.
