è stato un po' noioso, seppur la storia si sia fatta leggere abbastanza velocemente. Di tutt'altra fattura sono invece le sequenze ambientate nel passato, finora le più interessanti.

Comunque, Gleason ha ben capito come scrivere Damian.

It was difficult to know how to feel about the idea of Batman and Robin artist Patrick Gleason pulling double duty on this follow-up series. It's quickly become apparent, however, that Gleason is no slouch as a writer in addition to being a very talented visual storyteller. Robin: Son of Batman successfully builds on the foundation of Batman and Robin while offering its own distinct conflict and voice. Gleason's art certainly doesn't suffer in this solo venture. He has a great flair for action and dynamic page layouts. Gleason isn't afraid to get a little weird with this book, but the emphasis always remains on Damian's quest to atone for his selfish past. This issue offers greater insight into how the new Nobody will factor into the conflict. Thankfully, Gleason doesn't write her as a straightforward antagonist, but rather someone whose goals are more aligned with Damian's than either cares to admit. -Jesse

Robin: Son of Batman #3 is an opportunity to deal both with parents and with legacy. Robin's new pal is the daughter of a supervillain from Batman and Robin past named Nobody. Robin's own struggle to deal with his conflicting legacies – the al Ghul legacy and the Bat legacy – is mirrored interestingly with Nobody II. Patrick Gleason both writes and draws the conflict, he shows weaknesses in each field this issue but still manages to tell a compelling story. On the writing side he's still a little wordy and slow to the point but ultimately gives the story some real heart, his evocative and lively art style is as wonderful as ever but with too much clutter at times. -Levi

While I like Nobody as a character for Damian to play off of, Patrick Gleason's writing is a bit stilted in this one. the bickering and subsequent fighting between the two lacks any real tension because we're only in #3. The art in the fight scenes is similarly statuesque because Nobody just isn't very interesting visually. On the whole, a lot of Gleason's action sequences felt off because of his choice of angles and panel composition. The introduction of a true big bad at the end of the issue should help balance out this book. Gleason is a very talented creator who takes a step back here in writing and art. Hopefully, though, it's just a minor hiccup.
