Eh si vede che è cambiato team creativo È un vero peccato concludere in questa maniera, specialmente per i disegni, perchè bene o male si respiravano ancora le stesse atmosfere, ma Janin è una parte fondamentale di Grayson, a questo punto preferivo ancora Di Giandomenico!
Stiamo per chiudere il cerchio, abbiamo un cliffhanger finale e non so come reagire, potrebbe essere una cazza come qualcosa che...abbellisce un po' tutto, quindi staremo a vedere
Ho le mie perplessità, tutto quello che abbiamo letto e leggeremo, sarà farina del sacco di King e Seeley che hanno dato le loro dritte (spero sia così) oppure una "nuova" storyline? È anche poco probabile però bho...

Bhe...all'improvviso Checkmate è diventata molto importante!
Numero che mi è piaciuto molto, anche se non posso dire di aver apprezzato ogni singolo twist!
Purtroppo nemmeno le matite erano di mio gusto, almeno Di Giandomenico era un buon rimpiazzo di Janin!
Il finale è abbastanza scontato, lo aveva anticipato Seeley in Batman & Robin Eternal e le solitic di Nightwing post-Rebirth lo hanno confermato...

Grayson may be winding down, but that doesn't mean writers Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly intend on letting up. This issue is a bit more focused and coherent when compared to the jumble that was issue #18, but even now there's still the sense of having too many cooks in the collective kitchen. There's an awful lot of maneuvering to this installment, from Dick's world sprawling battle with Tiger to Maxwell Lord's endgame reveal to the further exploration of the newly returned Dr. Daedalus and his/her own sinister plans. In trying to tie up everything, the writers again leave Dick himself feeling disappointingly thin, a fact no amount of witty retorts or action set pieces can change. The art by Roge Antonio gives the book a solid energy, but there's so much going on that it's tough to fully invest in any one thing, let alone all of it. The narrative acrobatics may eventually culminate in a stuck landing, but as of now this book is swinging without a net. -Jeff

Doctor Daedalus emerges in Helena's stolen body, and heavy shadows with deep reds set a sufficiently enigmatic tone. The decades-long web of Daedalus is finally unraveling, and Dick just figure out he's been misled in more ways than one. Being the unwavering acrobat that he is, he springs back onto his feet (and then onto a sweet Batcycle) to go save his friend. Writers Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing maintain Dick's signature swagger and lithe dexterity giving way to an upbeat pace and authentic read. This is a highly dynamic issue, and artist Roge Antonio delivers exciting perspectives and crisp conflict. Colorist Jeromy Cox compliments the flow of the panels with contrasting blues for Grayson's chase, and deep reds for Daedalus's machinations. It all works very well together. Grayson #19 is a proper penultimate issue for the arc with an engaging stride and solid story structure.

Ottima conclusione di questa testata. Sono stati all'altezza di quanto iniziato. L'ho trovata per certi versi Morrisoniana, sia per certi temi trattati e ripresi sia per il modo con cui è stato scritto benissimo il personaggio di Dick.

L'ultima pagina è da incorniciare ed è uno splendido manifesto di chi sia questo favoloso personaggio del DC Universe.

Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly had some big shoes to fill in the wake of Tom King and Tim Seeley, but they absolutely stick the landing with the final issue of Grayson, which largely ditches the convoluted spy stuff and instead cuts to the heart of this series — who is Dick Grayson? Lanzing and Kelly tap into all the threads that their predecessors have laid out, with bits like hypnos, Spyral and the mind-controlling Dr. Daedalus coming together nicely in a battle inside Dick Grayson's head, where the writers are able to deftly use all the various identities this one-time Boy Wonder has adopted over the years. Roge Antonio's artwork, meanwhile, is way sketchier than the work of Mikel Janin, but given the high-flying nature of this final battle, it actually winds up being a good fit. While occasionally this book loses focus by having to also end the stories of Grayson's supporting cast, this is some very solid work from a pair of up-and-coming writers.

Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly faced quite the tall task in taking over Grayson's final leg. Not only did they have to build on the expansive story set by Tom King and Tim Seeley, they also had to find a way to wrap it up. Given Dick's obvious standing in DC's Rebirth, there was really only one way the finale could go. Nevertheless, Lanzing and Kelly do a solid job in crafting an end that both celebrates what's come before while also setting the tone for what's to come. Ultimately, it's not the plot that makes issue #20 a winner, but rather the clear sense of character that's consistent throughout. The writers really hone in on who Dick is and what he means to the people around him and, perhaps more importantly, what they mean to him. Artist Roge Antonio likewise shows a clear sense of focus, his intricate spreads a nice blend of trippy action and more earnest character. If nothing else, the issue succeeds in crafting excitement for Dick's next adventure. -Jeff

E così si conclude questa testata!
Che dire? Lanzing e Kelly sono rimasti fedeli alle atmosfere di Seeley e King e hanno fatto un buon lavoro, questo dice molto, non è facile scrivere una ongoing come Grayson, bisogna essere originali e creativi, altrimenti basta niente e il tutto diventa noioso...
Ciò detto, vorrei leggere altro di Lanzinf e Kelly, non so se hanno una testata nel post-Rebirth, ma dubito...
Per quanto riguarda la conclusione, è stato "spoilerato" da un bel pezzo, ancor prima di annunciare le varie testate Rebirth, ovvero nel momento in cui Seeley scrisse quelle pagine di B&R Eternal!
All'improvviso sbucano fuori questi "piani backup" e quindi questi satelliti, FE è stata una gran bella botta per Dick, un outing del genere non poteva durare per sempre, infatti torniamo al vecchio status quo, personalmente non ci avrei messo la mano sul fuoco, un po' per quello che sta succendendo con Superman, altro pg che è stato smascherato e per ora non è cambiato niente, ma anche perchè Dick Grayson è mutante al 100% cioè lui è praticamente un Scott Summers della Marvel, fra tutti i pg DC NESSUNO è cambiato così tanto nel corso degli anni, ha avuto un sacco di evoluzioni, quindi vederlo come spia 4ever non era poi così inconcepibile eh!
MA! Ormai i tempi son cambiati, Dick Grayson è famoso per essere Nightwing e rimarrà sempre così, personalmente spero di rivederlo come spia perchè mi è piaciuto molto in questi panni eee niente spero che la DC non smetta mai ti esplorare nuovi orizzonti, lo hanno fatto con Dick e tra poco lo faranno col pg di Lex Luthor e non vedo l'ora!
