Nathan Edmondson does a great job of making this issue another stand-alone story while still providing some opportunities for readers to see these characters develop. We see the introduction of Daredevil as a sort of moral compass for the Black Widow, in addition to hinting at a similar role for Isaiah and his relationship with Natasha, all of which hold promising angles for future stories. Moreover, there are opportunities where lesser creators would have readily played the "sex card" with Natasha's getting dressed for work; yet, Phil Noto carefully keeps the art focused on the story and character. Where Edmondson's writing depicts Natasha's thoughts about her colleagues whose superpowers enable them to "get up and go" with far greater ease, Noto shows us the slow and deliberate process of her putting on the role of the Black Widow making her all the more human without distracting the reader with the all-too-popular T&A shots. The panels and pages he creates work in tandem with the writing and produce a solid superhero spy-on-the-side story.

Sinceramente spero che non si abusi delle "guest star", voglio vedere Natasha in primo piano, non come la solita spalla di qualcuno.

Noto come sempre spettacolare.
Per ora Edmonson si sta prendendo il suo tempo per costruire la trama, che si sta ingarbugliando numero dopo numero. Comunque la serie è molto promettente, a mio avviso ha tutte le carte in regola per decollare.
Speriamo che gli autori non scazzino andando avanti

The one-and-done story arcs behind Black Widow are really solid examples of the age-old Marvel notion making sure a comic is new-reader friendly. Not every comic needs to be overburdened with continuity and this series proves the point. Edmondson continues to prove capable of telling a brief story about Black Widow all the while moving his regular readers' understanding of Natasha and company forward. We see hints of her past relationship with Bucky Barnes – the Winter Soldier – while planting hints that not all is running as smoothly for her behind the scenes of her "business" as she might otherwise think. Noto's painted, breezy aesthetic continues to be a welcome style unlike anything in mainstream comics right now making this series all the more appealing. Once again, this duo delivers another spy episode with strong characters and eye-catching art that should not be missed.
