A team is created to take on the threat of super powered individuals. We are re-introduced to many familiar faces and it's looking like a pretty cool set up.
The Good
Team 7 in the DC Universe is a strange and fascinating idea. When it was first mentioned that Steve Trevor was a member in the pages of JUSTICE LEAGUE, it opened the door to possibilities. It's ideas like this that makes the integration of the Wildstorm Universe into the DCU a joy. This isn't quite the same Team 7 we had before. There are some of the same characters. The update and inclusion of certain DC characters is what makes this book stand out from the typical covert government team book.

The zero issue takes us back five years ago. With superheroes making the scene in a big way, it's understandable that the powers that be in the government would want to take precautions. "People with more power that a nuclear bomb are walking the Earth." The government is usually portrayed as being paranoid in matters such as these but you have to admit they have good reason. A giant unknown factor has been thrown in their faces.

One of the greatest joys was seeing John Lynch in these pages. I wasn't sure what his status would be since we hadn't seen him in the first year of the New 52. Also, is it just a coincidence it's called "The Majestic Project"? This is the perfect place to start a new series. As a zero issue, it introduces the entire team (well, at least most of it, I think since there is one member apparently missing). Some of the members seen here are surprising (even though they were revealed when the series was announced). Because they are in this early "five years ago" stage, many will be different than what we've seen so far in the present. How they go from here to now is going to be interesting.

I'm a fan of Jesus Merino who does the art along with Norm Rapmund and Rob Hunter. It has the right feel for this type of book. The characters are recognizable even though some will go through some changes.

The Bad
I really liked this book. I really like the potential it has. Because of this, I am worried how the series will play out. I will be strongly rooting for this title to continue to wow me each month. What kind of missions will they go on and how long can the need for the team last?

I don't really like the suits the member use in the field. It makes sense for them to have non-specific suits and a sort of uniform since they are a government team. The look can be a little gaudy and cliché. Some of the members have little personal touches such as Deathstroke wearing blue or Grifter wearing red along with his mask. That's good for the characters to have their own identity but doesn't seem like the best idea for a covert team to be wearing brightly colored suits.

The Verdict
I was excited for the New 52 relaunch of Team 7 and was a little scared at the same time but this issue is off to a promising start. With the sudden emergence of superpowered individuals, it makes perfect sense that a group would be created to deal with any potential problem that could arise. This is the perfect introduction, even to characters that have had their own titles in the New 52. Things were different "five years ago" in the DC Universe and and it's such a treat to see these stories play out. I'm assuming and hoping the series will continue to run in this time period since characters such as Black Canary, Deathstroke and Grifter all have present day appearances going on. This was close to a five star book for me. I have high hopes for this series and this issue justified me having them.

4/5

Dovevo saziarla."

Announcing JSA: THE LIBERTY FILES – THE WHISTLING SKULL

This December, DC Comics will publish JSA: THE LIBERTY FILES – THE WHISTLING SKULL. From acclaimed writer B. Clay Moore (SUPERMAN CONFIDENTIAL, OUR FIGHTING FORCES) and artist Tony Harris (EX MACHINA, STARMAN), this new six-part miniseries is set in 1940s Europe. With the Nazi war machine on the move, crimes are still committed even in the smallest hamlets. From the world of the JSA: THE LIBERTY FILES, witness the birth of a new hero for the ages!

"Tony and I have been working on THE WHISTLING SKULL for a while, now, and it's been an absolute labor of love," Moore told THE SOURCE. "I think he's doing the absolute best work of his career here, and there's no one better to accentuate that than Dave McCaig on color. For readers looking for a new spin on the DC Universe, combined with brand new headlining characters, I think the book will be a treat, and it's just the first chapter in a much larger story. This initial offering introduces readers to the legacy of the Whistling Skull in a wartime, pulp-infused setting, and should provide something fresh for readers to sink their teeth into."

"This is a long haul, sweet baby that's finally coming together," continued Harris. "Clay and I have been developing THE WHISTLING SKULL for a few years now. Taking every precaution and the utmost care with every word and every line of ink to make sure we bring you something new, fresh and exciting. I could go on and on dropping catch phrases and bore you to death with 'personal' 'important' 'kickass' 'bloobidy-blah-blab-blab.' Not gonna happen here.

"What I will say is that a host of friends, contemporaries and scores of fans have shepherded this project carefully and steadily towards the waiting hands of countless devotees of mine and Clay's creative efforts. It's something I will NEVER forget as we approach the release of JSA: LIBERTY FILES - THE WHISTLING SKULL. And DC Comics' willingness to marry and 'seat' SKULL firmly in the JSA: LIBERTY FILES universe that I was a part of creating in years past, in effect resurrecting that franchise and allowing us to breathe NEW life into it, is a testament to DC Comics' dedication to producing exciting, new properties that have the potential to go on for many years to come. I feel like I did when James Robinson and I were preparing to release STARMAN into the world. I can barely sit still."

Below, take an exclusive first look at JSA: THE LIBERTY FILES – THE WHISTLING SKULL by checking out Harris' cover for issue #1.

Prima di fasciarci la testa attenderei il nuovo team creativo.
Certo è che la DC ha un po' rotto le scatole con questi cambi continui, un po' di stabilità alle serie non farebbe male di tanto in tanto.

USA TODAY announces "Throne of Atlantis"

Yesterday, BUZZFEED announced that Ivan Reis and Joe Prado would be taking over as the ongoing artists on JUSTICE LEAGUE.

Today, JUSTICE LEAGUE fans have more big news to get excited about! Earlier this morning, USA TODAY broke the news that issues #15 of JUSTICE LEAGUE and AQUAMAN will begin a crossover event called "Throne of Atlantis."

"There's still questions of what Atlantis is like and what they do and what they're capable of and why they exist and who sank Atlantis," writer Geoff Johns teased to USA TODAY. "There's all this mythology behind Atlantis that we're not really sure of and no one really has any answers, and we're about to get the answers."

Click here to read USA TODAY's full coverage of this announcement. And in case you missed it last night, check out Ivan Reis and Joe Prado's cover for JUSTICE LEAGUE #15 below

Is Eddy Barrows The New Artist On Aquaman?

We now know it to be official. Ivan Reis and Joe Prado are leaving Aquaman to work on Justice League, with their Aquaman writer, Geoff Johns.

But who will replace Reis and Prado on the book they made their own?

The issue 15 cover for Aquaman, kicking off an Aquaman/Justice League crossover, looks very much like Eddy Barrows. Now, DC sometimes have a different artist drawing the exteriors as to who draws the interiors, but often it's the same fellow. And Barrows is at least in the same ballpark. Could he be the new Aquaman artist?

And if so... who will be the new Aquaman writer?

I've got new kidneys. I don't like the colour.
