We are called Cybermen. We were exactly like you once, but our cybernetic scientists realised that our race was getting weak. Our lifespan was getting shorter, so our scientists and doctors devised spare parts for our bodies until we could be almost completely replaced. Our brains are just like yours, except that certain weaknesses have been removed. Weaknesses like... emotions, pain. You will become like us. You will be upgraded.

"I hear words but I cannot understand them.
The roar of the fire inside my brain...bloats out everything.
Suddenly I remember a former name. Someone named Jack Moore. Was that me? He never got into figths. Hated violence.
Now violence seems so right. So natural.
For a moment I lose flight. The crazy power diminishes.
I realize I mustn't think. Just act.
Just Kill."

Dal Profilo FB di Tony Daniel:

The DC announcement on The Source goes up this coming Friday. It's actually only part of what's coming next for me since there's more news coming, probably by NYCC this fall. But on Friday we'll have some colored preview art to show. Richard Friend is my new partner in crime, a very talented inker as well as an all around great guy I can bounce drawing ideas off of. Tomeu Morey continues his excellent coloring on this project as well.

Altre dichiarazioni di George Perez sul suo lavoro per il DCNU e sulla DC Comics in generale-

CitazioneMore From George Perez On Working At DC Comics

At Toronto Comic Con, George Perez held a panel, with an extensive Q&A. Talking about his life, his career, his likes and loves, he was also asked about is more recent work on the Superman book as part of the DC New 52 relaunch. And, just as he was in Metropolis, Perez was open and candid.

"Things are being second guessed left and right, a case of too many chiefs, not enough Indians now. Whether it will work? Who am I to say. They want it to be like Hollywood, and it's becoming like Hollywood, in producing comics, and what you have is a corporate room deciding where things are going to go. And part of the reason for me leaving Superman is that I had certain ideas I wanted to do unfortunately, stuff that they okay one day, they would change their mind the next day, and it was becoming waytoo difficult, slowing us down. That ws unfortunate. I hope they succeed for the industry's sakeIn the case of Superman they didn't want a writer, they wanted a typewriter. They have to deal with people producing the movie, who also had a say in what's going on in the comic as well. My one fear, I'm not producing a comic, I'm producing a storyboard for a movie, that's not what I wanted to do.

So I decided to bow out, and stay on as penciller, where I have fewer headaches – not no headaches, but fewer headaches, In doing World's Finest, everything's still being decided at the last minute. They needed a design for Power Girl, they didn't ask me.They finally gave me the design, they needed to get it out solicitations, got it drawn, got it coloured, got it printed in the solicitation, they called me a week later, we changed our mind on the Power Girl costumes, so now I have to do a patch on the first issue cover and for a mercenary, practical and financial point of view, I just lost the resale value on my artwork, because now the character's not the same character that appears on the cover and they screwed me out of that, and I shouldn't have to be thinking about that but you guys really have to make up my minds!

When an artists like Dan Jurgens, one of the fastest most professional in the industry, when I was working with him on Teen Titans, he was always he was three months ahead of schedule. I was having a hell of a time keeping up with him. On Green Arrow, he was basically trying just to make the deadline and not be late, because kept changing their mind on the stories.

In the case of Superman I didn't want to wait around any more. I need to get away, it was not conducive. I didn't want to end up hating working on the book."

You can listen to the full audio here, thanks to Jamie Colville. Here are the World's Finest covers in question...

Announcing a New Writer and Artist for DETECTIVE COMICS

This fall, John Layman (CHEW) will be writing DETECTIVE COMICS. And joining him to tell his twisted stories about the Dark Knight will be fan-favorite artist Jason Fabok. So what's in store for DC Comics' flagship title? We asked the duo to shed some light on what fans can expect from their collaboration.

"Obviously, this is a happily surreal and exciting turn-of-events for my career," Layman told THE SOURCE. "Not only is this my first work within the DC Universe, but I get to work on one of DC's undisputedly coolest and highest-profile characters. I'm going to take a look at the role of criminal organizations within Gotham City, hopefully from a perspective that does not get considered very often (if at all). From the symbiotic relationship a master criminal must have with Gotham in order to survive, to the lowly, often faceless criminal underling hoping to rise up the ranks. All that, plus Batman's gonna play with a bunch of crazy new toys and kick all kinds of butt."

"First, I want to express how thankful I am to have this opportunity. I am humbled that DC Comics would entrust me with one of their greatest titles," continued Fabok. "To work on a Batman title has been the number one goal that I set for my career and I am honored to have this opportunity to make my dream become a reality. I'm really hoping to deliver a dark, epic Batman with hints of the art deco stylings of the old animated series and the more modern take seen in recent incarnations. I am hoping to let my influences gush out onto the page and create something that is familiar, classic and yet my own. As for working with John Layman, I couldn't be more excited. John is a great visual storyteller and he packs every page with meaningful panels that bring the story forward and add incredible depth. Together we hope to deliver a quality Batman tale, filled with mystery, twists, turns, shockers and most of all, fun!"

DETECTIVE COMICS #13 flies into stores on October 3rd. Below, take an exclusive first look at Fabok's cover for the issue.

Mi sa che hanno fatto contento il nostro Hankey, se non ricordo male.
Non conosco Layman, se non per sentito dire, ma se lo hanno messo su Detective Comics non deve essere certo uno sprovveduto.
