One of the more enjoyable aspects of a crossover comes from exploring both the differences and similarities of the two respective properties. Issue #2 offers a great example of this comparison, as with the two figureheads of each group missing, the resulting characters must band together in figuring out how best to proceed. This of course leads to all manner of disagreement, writer Chynna Clugston-Flores ably capturing the various unique voices in their dissent. As far as tone goes, the writer does an increasingly strong job of landing somewhere between Lumberjanes out there shenanigans and Gotham Academy's more mysterious bent. The resulting read isn't as laugh-out-loud-funny as we'd expect from the pairing, but it is quite clever, Clugston-Flores playing the various cast against one another in inventive ways. Artist Rosemary Valero-O'Connell provides a similar nuance, some characters seemingly right at home in their new digs while others remain on the outs. At times it's tough to differentiate between the large cast (due to some already similar designs) but overall this crossover continues to mine the best from both worlds. -Jeff
