Lovers of great superhero banter will definitely want to jump on the Batgirl and the Birds of Prey bandwagon. The story almost takes a backseat to the fun of watching Batgirl, Black Canary, and Huntress play off one another. The opening chase scene is particularly great, with Canary and Batgirl playing the role of John Connor to the Huntress's Terminator as they try to keep their new teammate from killing Santo's men. But it's not all played for laughs, in particular the frosty relationship between Batgirl and Jim Gordon. Two issues in and this is already one of the better additions to the Rebirth line, with artist Claire Roe complementing the book's tone and action perfectly. Her style has subtle hints of anime which match the kinetic energy of its three leads. Plus Batman calls Huntress "Purple Person." Throw in a menacing villain and you've got a must-read comic book. - Joe

We have to take a moment and appreciate a comic that begins with a Golden Girls reference. There's a playfulness to this series that's been on display from the get-go, and while things can still get heavy, panels that read "Gotham Cemetery: The only place to R.I.P. in Gotham" help maintain a well-balanced tone. Plus Batgirl punches a robot Joker in the back, so that's fun. The bond between our heroes is beginning to strengthen, but hopefully things between Helena and Babs will always remain a bit frosty as their contentious relationship has been one of this book's highlights. The new Oracle continues to be a mysterious adversary and far more compelling than the Snake Gang, who are beginning to wear thin. Roge Antonio fills in for Claire Roe, and while his style is sleeker and less kinetic than hers, his action scenes still pack plenty of punch. - Joe
