Pitting the police-supported Rogues against a wanted Flash has created the most fun and compelling writing this book has seen in a few years. Unfortunately, some misguided decisions mid-way through this issue might ruin that and make this book unreadable for some. The Rogues' hunt for The Flash leads them to Wally West's middle school. The law-enforcing Rogues then proceed to blow up the outside of the school, destroy even more of the inside, and threaten to blow up a student. There's no reason that superhero action can't be set in schools (Spider-Man comics, especially, have made great dramatic use of such situations), but the story doesn't fully represent the gravity of the scenario. This book isn't lighthearted enough for that threat to be dulled, but there also isn't enough dramatic weight placed on the threat of the situation either. The Rogues simply stroll through, blow up part of a school, then get mildly scolded. It's a tone that completely fails the issue. At its best, the events feel unbelievable and silly. At its worst, the events show a social blind spot and are fairly problematic. -Levi

Yaaawn, mooolto noioso, diventa interessante solo verso la fine, quando il rivelano il villain: Riddler!
Lo sapevamo già dalle solicit but still...
Pure la Back-up non mi ha detto niente :nono:
Oh ma com'è che nessuno sa scrivere una buona storia sul time travel senza scazzare di brutto, serie tv compresa? :look:

The tables have turned as the Rogues join forces with the CCPD to arrest the Flash. That's not a bad status quo reversal to celebrate the series' 50th issue. It certainly makes for a dramatic anniversary issue. Unfortunately, it also feels a bit rushed despite the extended page count. This issue includes many iconic Flash villains, but of the bunch only Trickster receives any significant attention. There seems to be a mad dash to the big cliffhanger, which admittedly is a cool reveal. Jesus Merino and Paul Pelletier also make for a solid art team in these pages (with the vivid colors complementing Pelletier's powerful pencils far better than those in Action Comics #51). The real pleasant surprise, however, is the Wally West-centric backup tale. For a character with such a rocky history in the New 52, this suggests that better days lie ahead for Wally in DC Rebirth. -Jesse

:mmm:

The problem with this issue, just as with the last issue, is that Van Jensen simply doesn't write a clever or cunning enough plan for The Riddler. "A bomb set to go off" is pretty much the first supervillain play in the book. Luckily, other elements of this issue are strong enough to make for a decent final Flash issue. We get everything we would want from this finale - a team-up with the Rogues, an evolution in one of their powers, and even a moment for Wally West (though for all the buildup of this new character over the last few years, his first superheroic moment is a bit underwhelming). Additionally, Jesus Merino puts in a solid bit of action and Rogues rendering. This isn't a particularly good comic, but it's good enough. - Levi
