Justice League #51 (Published by DC Comics; Review by Justin Partridge; 'Rama Rating: 9 out of 10):

How do you follow a high-profile and sprawling run of comics starring DC's best and brightest after the biggest fights of their lives? If you are Dan Abnett, you do it with a fun case-of-the-month issue that takes full advantage of the team's dynamic and filter it all through the eyes of a grounded protagonist. With art from Paul Pelletier, whose work conjures comparisons to that of Alan Davis, Justice League #51 is equal parts an epilogue to Geoff Johns' Justice League that never feels chained to expectations. Justice League #51 is a breezy, yet rich done-in-one story of the League grappling with some unforeseen consequences of their first bout with Darkseid. Abnett delivers a problem worthy of the League while displaying their relationships as a team well, but it is his inclusion of Tim Drake that makes this issue really stand out. Abnett sets Robin up as an eager yet unsure bystander at first, but quickly proves his mettle to each member of the team (his allowing Wonder Woman to borrow one of his Robin-arangs being a particularly great example) and even makes him an active participant in the problem solving, pairing him with the League's other resident youngster, Cyborg, highlighting Tim's keen detective mind, his selfless heroism, and his affability in just a few scenes. While not as bombastic as the previous 50 issues, Justice League #51 succeeds with solid artwork, an easy-to-follow plot that firmly connects it to the New 52's early days, and compelling characterizations.

Though Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok wrapped up their Justice League run last month, DC has elected to keep the series going until its replacement arrives this summer. The result is this standalone issue that flashes back to the League's early days and a young Dick Grayson's first encounter with heroes like Superman and Wonder Woman. The idea of seeing these titans through a teen heroes eyes is sound, but this issue never really makes the most of that element. The decision to pit the League against three barely connected threats gives the script a very scatterbrained quality. It's too much material to tackle in one issue, and little of it matters in terms of Robin's story anyway. Specific moments stand out, such as Robin lending a weapon to Wonder Woman or forming a friendship with Cyborg, but they don't add up to a very satisfying whole. Readers will have to be content with those moments and the always engaging visuals of Paul Pelletier. -Jesse

Molto bello questo numero! :D
:dsi:

Much as last week's Justice League #51 set the stage for Dan Abnett's new Titans comic, this series finale bridges the gap between The Darkseid War and Dan Jurgens' Action Comics run. Lex Luthor takes the spotlight, as readers learn more about his mindset and his reasons for returning to earth rather than lording over the Darkseid-less Apokolips. Nothing in this story is terribly essential to the larger tapestry of DC Rebirth, but it's always fun to see Lex cast as the hero of his own story. This issue is useful in proving that Jurgens intends to treat Lex as a complicated and even, in some ways, well-meaning character rather than a mere antagonist for Superman. The scenes involving Lex's comatose sister serve as a reminder that even this character has moments of doubt and weakness. Tom Grummett's style is a little too clean and straightforward to pair well with either The Darkseid War or the new Action Comics, but on its own merits Grummett's work is very expressive and adept at conveying both action and Luthor's complicated range of emotions. -Jesse

(o no...)

Mi chiedevo pure come

il Joker di Snyder è quello apparso in Death of the Family e Endgame

Qualche incongruenza?
