Ripeto qui quello che ho già postato sul topic Watchmen 2:
allo stesso tempo dubbioso e curioso, non sono un fan dell'iniziativa ma di certo non mi sento di snobbarla a priori. Sicuramente i nomi coinvolti sono una sicurezza, sicché credo che almeno su questo versante c'è da stare tranquilli.
Insomma, che sia una cacata o un capolavoro, si vedrà solo alla fine. E per giudicarlo andrà sicuramente letto

Diciamo che al di là del risultato finale (che secondo me sarà altissimo) ci sarebbe da ridire su quanto sia lecita l'operazione e quanto sia corretta nei confronti di Moore... come scrivevo nel post-clone che ho creato stamane (p.s. chiedo scusa agli amministratori, sono nuovo ) la DC approfitta del fatto che il contratto di Alan Moore è stato firmato 30 anni fa e in esso non erano previste clausole per lo sfruttamento multimediale, prequel, sequel, plurime ristampe delle raccolte. Non vi erano tali clausole perchè il mercato non le richiedeva, poi il mercato è cambiato e il contratto no, in quanto la DC non è mai stata disposta a rinegoziarlo e ha riempito il vuoto semplicemente imponendo la sua volontà... in questi giorni si è conclusa la causa Gaiman contro McFarlane (iniziata nel 2004, non sono lenti solo i tribunali italiani   ) e si è conclusa con questa sentenza:
A character based on a stock character becomes sufficiently distinctive to be copyrightable when the character is drawn, named, and given speech
A detta di molti questo precedente costituirà la base di una legislazione più certa per quanto riguarda i comics e restringerà un po' le possibilità delle case editrici... vedremo...

Quindi Bat-Man, Spider-Man, Dylan Dog, Tex e Topolino non dovrebbero andare avanti se non per mezzo dei loro creatori?
Sinceramente sarà anche una mossa commerciale ma volta a creare e magari a portare una nuova serie in DC con nuovi lettori che non sarebbe male.

Tranquillo, all'inizio è sempre difficile orientarsi, ti ho linkato la discussione così se nessuno commenta più qui quell'aspetto della vicenda sai il perchè

Assolutamente non dico questo, però riconoscerai che Watchmen e Batman non sono la stessa cosa: in Batman, spiderman ecc. è insita la serialità, nei personaggi, nelle strutture narrative scelte ecc.
Alan Moore dovendolo etichettare lo definirei autore post-moderno e tipica della letteratura post-moderna è la deconcettualizzazione e riconcettualizzazione di quanto già esistente, lo stesso Moore ha fatto la sua fortuna prendendo personaggi dal mondo dei comics, della letteratura, della storia, del cinema, ripensandoli e reinventandoli. Moore negli anni 90 tentò più volte di fare un prequel sui minutemen e all'epoca fu Paul Levitz a bloccare tutto, non chiedetemi il perchè di quella decisione. Se invece mi chiedete il perchè di questo rilancio, penso che la risposta la sappiamo tutti: soldi. Quello che io contesto è che Alan Moore non ha alcun potere decisionale, nulla di nulla, è totalmente escluso in virtù di un contratto di 30 anni fa e sinceramente ne comprendo le preoccupazioni... Per farti un esempio, tu hai citato Dylan Dog, Tiziano Sclavi seppur non scrive da oltre 5 anni è comunque il supervisore della serie, dunque se un giorno l'autore più ciofeca di dylan dog (IMO Marzano) per far vendere più copie in combutta con Gualdoni, decide di fare un colpo di scena e viene fuori che dylan è un trans, Tiziano Sclavi ha tutto il diritto di dire "Fermi che state facendo". Se la DC per motivi commerciali decide di twilightizzare Before Watchmen, Alan Moore non potrà dire altro che "OK". Comunque ribadisco che secondo me ne uscirà fuori un bel prodotto, però ribadisco pure che IMO in linea di principio è sbagliato fare una operazione del genere escludendo e sbandierando un contratto di oltre 30 anni fa.
Se sono OT me ne scuso e se ritenete necessario spostare il commento fate pure.
