Warner Bros. Discovery CEO Says James Gunn Has A "Powerful Vision And Blueprint" For DC Studios
CitazioneTalking during an earnings call yesterday evening, Zaslav assured investors that the DCU now has a bright future thanks to the two men tasked with overhauling it.
"[For them], running DC Studios is a passion project, not just a job," Zaslav explained. "James is a brilliant storyteller who has the distinction of being the first and only filmmaker to direct the movie for both Marvel and DC. Peter's a prolific producer whose credits include DC's highest grossing movie, Aquaman, as well as the entire Conjuring universe, the most successful horror franchise of all time. I could not be more thrilled to have them join our ranks. And I'm excited for what is to come. I spent a lot of time over the last few months with James and Peter, talking about our strategy and long-term plans for the future of DC across TV, animation, and film. They have a powerful vision and blueprint that will drive a more unified creative approach. [It] will enable us to realize the full value of one of the world's most iconic franchises. They're hard at work right now.""

Henry Cavill Held Onto Superman Role in His Heart Even When It Was Outside His Control
Citazione"It was very important," Cavill told Deadline when asked about holding onto the character of Superman. "But also not within my control. And so, as an actor, you have to learn that there are things out of your control no matter what you may think, no matter how your performance was, no matter what factors were not in your control in the first place, no matter how the audience feels." The actor also discussed how he held onto the idea of returning as the DC Extended Universe's (now the DC Universe's) Big Blue Boy Scout. "It was something which I had to sort of very gently hold onto in my heart because I didn't know whether I would have the opportunity to play it again," he said. "I'm very, very lucky, and I feel very privileged to have that opportunity now."

Henry Cavill Hints He'll Have More Creative Control in Future Projects
CitazioneAppearing on the Deadline video series The Film That Lit My Fuse, Cavill was asked what the biggest challenge he faced was when trying to turn put his own spin on the projects that influenced him as a performer. The Man of Steel star shared that he has not had the opportunity to exercise that degree of creative control over his work yet, but he hinted that the next stage of his career will give him a lot more freedom, from the start of his projects to their final versions.

"I think I'm only starting to do that now," he said. "I think that will happen in my next chapter, the chapter which we're opening at this stage. Up until now I've had the wonderful opportunity to work with the likes of Matthew Vaughn and Guy Ritchie and [Christopher] Macquarie and others. But I think this next chapter is when I finally get to just speak in my own language and to be there from the beginning of the creative process, from the birth of every idea into the realization, into its culmination on the screen ... Watch this space is the answer."

Henry Cavill Teases How Long He'll Play Superman In New DCU
Citazione"I think there's—it's so difficult to say exactly what happens behind the scenes. There's been a lot of voices involved. I'm so thankful for voices like Danny Garcia and Hiram Garcia, and indeed Dwyane [Johnson being so involved in helping me come back to this character. I mean, the deeper I dig the more voices I discover... but, Danny and have a close relationship as well because she was my manager... it's just a pleasure to be back to be honest. And I'm so excited to dig further into this character and to explore this character some more and make that I give the audience everything that they deserve with this character.t obviously means a lot, and I mean Superman is—he's the guy. He's that character who I think almost every culture will know if you say Superman in English in it to anyone from any country who speaks any language, they're going to understand the concept of what it means. That's why it's so—and I don't throw this around often, because I think a lot of people throw it around—but it is humbling to be the guy who gets to be the custodian of that character once again and, hopefully for many years to come as long as I do justice by the character."

Henry Cavill Describes Stepping Back Into His First Superman Suit
Citazione"It was a powerful moment for me, a meaningful moment, I was given a choice of which suit I wanted to wear, and I went straight for the Man of Steel suit. That one holds the most nostalgia for me, and the most meaning. To put that back on, and stand there in front of a mirror suited up again, the suit holds a special power, and there's no way of getting around that, even if you are the one wearing it."To see myself standing back in that suit was a meaningful moment," he explained. "It's difficult to describe. Many years hoping, planning, striving, doing everything I can to get back into it, and then finally be able to get back into it, it meant a lot and it's something that I won't quickly forget."

We are called Cybermen. We were exactly like you once, but our cybernetic scientists realised that our race was getting weak. Our lifespan was getting shorter, so our scientists and doctors devised spare parts for our bodies until we could be almost completely replaced. Our brains are just like yours, except that certain weaknesses have been removed. Weaknesses like... emotions, pain. You will become like us. You will be upgraded.
