It's somewhat staggering that in an issue featuring artistic turns by both Russell Dauterman AND Valerio Schiti, the most memorable moment is its simplest one. That's the power of Jason Aaron's Thor, or more specifically, Aaron's Jane Foster. Otherworldly adversaries and cosmic forces are no match for her iron will, something Aaron continues to reinforce with his consistently strong development. It's never been clearer that Foster IS Thor, so much so that the guest appearance of a certain Odinson feels just as it should, as a guest. Of course, Dauterman and Schiti are no slouches themselves. This issue fully delivers on the build-up of the last few chapters, the two artists combining for a plethora of eye-popping spreads and cheer-worthy character moments. Both artists know how to combine emotive character with thundering action, making issue #19 almost unfair in its visual appeal. Aaron's ending segue lays it on a bit thick, but one thing is certain — this excellent ride is nowhere near over. -Jeff

The Mighty Thor #19 (Published by Marvel Comics; Review by Kat Calamia; 'Rama Rating: 9 out of 10):

Jane Foster, a god who truly knows what it means to be human as she struggles with cancer, comes face-to-face with the fiery bird of life and death, delivering one of the strongest stories of The Mighty Thor to date. This issue showcases Jane's sheer will power as she uses her wit and internal strength as weapons to fight against the Phoenix, showing that a god must know what it means to be human before calling themselves truly divine. The Phoenix force also shines with Russel Dauterman's panel work. Dauterman uses the Phoenix as a way to brilliantly split up the panels. This made for some great action and emotion for both the Phoenix and Jane. Sadly, the issue switches artists halfway through the issue, but Valerio Schiti does a solid job following Dauterman's pages so the change isn't too jarring. The Mighty Thor #19 brings in the Phoenix at just the right time as this issue feels like a "rebirth" for the series. After looking death in the eye, Jane has a new evaluation on her priorities, which brings in some new and interesting roles for a few of the series' characters.

Jason Aaron's Thor run is known for introducing mysteries that take months or even years to resolve, so it's a refreshing change of pace that this new issue both introduces the new Ultimate Thor and reveals his identity right off the bat. Whether Marvel truly needs three Thors remains to be seen, but this character does fit into the picture in a natural way, tying as he does into the fallout of the War of Realms and the devastation that's spilling out as a result. This issue paints a gripping, emotionally bleak portrait of a kindly warrior brought low by tragedy and left with nothing but bloodlust and a thirst for revenge. It seems Ultimate Mjolnir has a very different view of what makes its wielder worthy, which should be a very interesting theme to explore going forward. As with issue #19, Valerio Schiti and Russell Dauterman prove to be a strong team. Schiti handles most of this issue, rendering all the devastation (physical and emotional) with proper reverence and intensity. Dauterman shines in a quieter but no less gripping sequence as Jane Foster and the Odinson see each other clearly for the first time in years. -Jesse

Altro buon numero,

Man of Steel

:asd:
E poi damn! Quentin come

:zuzu:
