per quanto riguarda Slott, le sue interazioni con FQ e derivati me le ricordo tutte buone/ottime (SPidey/human torch, the thing, Silver Surfer), anzi forse sono le sue storie migliori alla marvel, la Pichelli mi piace ma forse (forse) avrei puntato su qualcosa di più classico/kirbyano (Mike Allred? Forse troppo azzardato commercialmente...)

Se avessero scelto Allred, l'avrei evitata come la peste.

Da quanto ho letto, Slott su Silver Surfer ha fatto un gran lavoro, quindi perché non dovrebbe accadere anche per i F4? SS è un personaggio "cosmico", quanta differenza ci potrà mai essere con il Quartetto? Secondo me, a mente fredda, farà molto meglio di quanto fatto su AMS.

Quella di Silver Surfer è una serie completamente fuori dagli schemi dove gli autori hanno potuto dare libero sfogo alla propria fantasia senza limiti di alcun tipo.
Poi c'era Allred che a te potrà anche non piacere ma è indiscutibilmente un genio.
Il rilancio di una serie mainstream che punta per forza di cose ad avvicinare lettori e a vendere più possibile non potrà mai essere nulla del genere.

Non ho letto niente di Allred per poter dire se sia davvero un genio oppure no, so solo che il suo stile grafico non piace nemmeno lontanamente, discuto QUELLA parte dell'artista.

Infatti secondo me la serie di Silver Surfer non ti piacerebbe.
Poi i gusti sono gusti, anche un genio può non piacerti, anche a me succede.
Quello che volevo dirti è che è inutile nutrire speranze perchè Slott ha scritto un buon SS.

Dire che io nutra speranze è un po' esagerato, ma farà sicuramente meglio di quanto fatto su ASM, poco ma sicuro.

Io non ho letto il suo SS, ma ho letto recentemente Bug e, damn credo proprio che Allred abbia aiutato Slott col plot di SS, poi potrei sbagliarmi eh.
Comunque penso farà meglio di Spidey, non farà certe cavolate perchè bho...A volte sembrava davvero incazzato con la fanbase. :look:
Lo posso capire per gli X-Men, una delle ragioni per cui Hickman "detesta" i fan degli X-Men, la loro continuity e il mazzo che si deve fare un writer scrivere una storia, però sui F4 secondo me è differente, già la Marvel ha rotto il cazz anche a coloro a cui non frega niente dei pg, con loro non ha senso sconvolgere le cose. :nono:

Ha fatto un gran lavoro in quanto whovian, ed è riuscito a trasporre le atmosfere della serie sul personaggio.

Vero è che anche il Quartetto ha molti punti in comune, quindi volendo può uscirne qualcosa di interessante

Sicuramente una delle pochissime cose buone mostrate nella sua eterna gestione di Spider-Man è una grande conoscenza della storia del personaggio.
Salvo poi farsela sotto al momento di usarla.
In compenso caratterizzazioni sballate, personaggi sfregiati, dialoghi idioti,poche idee e banali.
Più ci penso più aumenta il pessimismo.
Tra l'altro il compito che gli verrà affidato sarà quasi certamente quello di modernizzare i personaggi per compiacere i ragazzini, esattamente quello che è stato fatto con Spider-Man con i nefasti risultati che sono sotto gli occhi di chiunque voglia vederli.
Certo che se uno ha letto solo le storie i Slott magari se lo fa anche andar bene (e magari fa pure il saccente come ho letto su alcune pagine FB) ma chi ha un minimo di conoscenza storica del personaggio certe cose non le può accettare.

Come ho detto, secondo me l'Uomo Ragno non è l'esempio perfetto per misurare la bravura di Slott, visto che è un personaggio difficile da scrivere dopo decenni di storie, e quindi non si riesce a trovare qualcosa di nuovo da dire, tranne in alcune eccezioni, per cui a parte pochi scrittori gli altri si trovano un personaggio su cui si è detto di tutto.
Secondo me il punto di riferimento deve essere Silver Surfer che è un personaggio cosmico, e quindi è già pronto con I Fantastici 4, poi se la storia è brutta non la si legge.

After two and a half years, they're back... sort of. This might be the return of the Fantastic Four book, yet Dan Slott and Sara Pichelli are taking their time in reuniting all the members of Marvel's First Family. As a result, this issue will play as familiar for the readers of Marvel Two-in-One, as much of the focus is on Johnny and Ben dealing with how they're getting on without Reed, Sue, Franklin and Valeria. Working with Elisabetta D'Amico and Marte Gracia, Pichelli's art has a light and bright feel to it, as does Slott's script, with this harmony ensuring a big character moment in the main story lands as intended. Though there's a dissonance to be found with them taking their time in getting to the actual reunion –– riffed on by a self-aware Slott and Skottie Young in a one-page story –– and the back-up. Not rushing to bring them back together is the right approach, one taken with care, yet it doesn't gel well with the Doctor Doom tale drawn by Simone Bianchi and Marco Russo, which speeds through resetting some of the Fantastic Four's surrounding status quo.

In questo caso non sono per niente d'accordo. Zdarsky nel Legacy ha scritto quasi le stesse debolissime cose infarcite di personaggi guest sia su Marvel 2-in-One che su Spectacular Spider-Man. Molto meglio Slott anche se è un po' decompresso.

L'ho letto, e la storia è gradevole.
Onestamente non darei come voto 9 su 10, quanto 7 su 10. E questo anche se sono, da sempre, un fan della coppia Ben-Alicia (quanto fastidio ho avuto quando Byrne sciolse la coppia e fece fare ad Alicia le corna a Ben con Johnny. Meno male che poi De Falco rimise tutto a posto inventando la Skrull Lyja).
Ed a proposito di Lyja...mi ha divertito lo scambio di battute tra Johnny e Ben di questo numero, quando salutano gli sposini che partono per il viaggio di nozze ()

In this issue of Fantastic Four, artist Sean Izaakse ramps up the series' visuals with wall-to-wall action as the Thing goes up against the Immortal Hulk. But what makes this issue one of the series' strongest installments are not the punches thrown but the words traded between Puppet Master and Ben. While Puppet Master's bottled-up feelings about his daughter Alicia marrying Ben come to a head, this isn't a story where Alicia plays damsel in distress. As her father and husband trade blows, she uses her own strengths to save her fellow tourists at their honeymoon resort. Her strength as a sculptor becomes her own unique superpower. Overall, Fantastic Four #13 is a must-read action-packed issue with a lot of heart.

Comunque sono anche passati quasi 60 anni. Sarebbe ora che Ben potesse trasformarsi nella Cosa ed in Ben Grimm quando vuole. Non so se Slott avrà il fegato di farlo, ma ne dubito.

Fantastic Four #14 (Published by Marvel Comics; Review by Kat Calamia; 'Rama Rating: 8 out of 10):

The Fantastic Four sees value in their mistakes as they celebrate the crash that gave them their powers all those years ago. Dan Slott and Paco Medina deliver a great adventure where Marvel's first family get to reminisce about the old days and show just how far they've come. That said, I would have liked some more explanation for the motives behind revisiting this mission other than nostalgic reasons – it's a problem I can easily overlook for the story's emotional payoff. On artwork, Medina's pencils are sleek and is a nice fit with Slott's energetic script. Fantastic Four #14 is a fun, nostalgic issue that adds a new, exciting layer to the team's origin story.

The Ever-Lovin' Blue-Eyed Thing takes on gentrification in Fantastic Four: 4 Yancy Street #1. Standing as a charming side tale to the main Dan Slott-headed title, writer Gerry Duggan delves deeply into the Thing's connection with his home turf. Which, fans will remember, has now become the new home base of the Fantastic Four.

Someone is tagging buildings on Yancy Street, and it's got Ben Grimm hoppin' mad. Worse still, they are pretty vehemently anti-FF, suggesting that the neighborhood he so loves doesn't want his family around due to rent hikes because of their presence. It's a remarkably simplistic turn for an FF book, but Duggan sells it very well, easing into a old-school, charming cadence for the Thing and aiming him at a problem he can't simply punch away.

But this being a comic about Aunt Petunia's favorite nephew, of course he throws some punches, and this one-shot is graced with a fantastic roster of artists who detail them beautifully. Anchored by the stony, classically-infused pencils of Greg Smallwood and the kinetic fun of Mark Bagley's vaulting action, this one-shot's art team really make the smaller scale and streetbound story work for them. Though it certainly doesn't have any world-ending stakes, Fantastic Four: 4 Yancy Street #1 does tap deeply into the charm and pathos of Marvel's First Family.

Opening with a heart wrenching recap of Ben's lost younger brother, given a warmth by Duggan's narration and Greg Smallwood and Erick Arciniega sepia-toned panel layouts, this one-shot establishes pretty early just how low-key of an affair it is going to be. But small doesn't necessarily mean bad. Quite the opposite as Gerry Duggan doubles down on the heartfelt nature of the script, making this flashback the bedrock of Ben's reaction to someone tagging the building that bares his brother's name.

Naturally, this sends him spiraling, allowing Duggan to display his keen sense of humor with stuff like Ben's original plan of attack; go back in time one day and clobber the person who tagged the building. But once he calms down and starts to look into the problem, he finds a much bigger one. Predatory landlords are taking advantage of the wave of gentrification happening in the wake of the FF's arrival on Yancy Street and forcing longtime residents into the street. And they are using the Terrible Trio as muscle to do so!

Admittedly, a clear-eyed look at superhero gentrification was not something I expected to read about going into this issue, but it is a really fun problem to see a character like the Thing tackle. Not only does Duggan make amazing use of his connection to the setting, giving him a real sort of skin in the game, but it makes it a more intangible, society-centered problem for the usual bruiser to have to face. The FF might have the market corner on galactic gods and alternate realities, but 4 Yancy Street #1 shows that that are still just as comfortable down here with the rest of us.

And while the scale of this one-shot is decidedly smaller than the main title, you would never think it thanks to the energy detailed onto the page from the stocked art team. Held together by the rich, vibrant colors of Erick Arciniega, this one-shot comes stocked with, aptly, four fantastic separate artists. We open with Greg Smallwood, who kicks off the issue with a vintage inspired newsprint look only to shift upward into striking Kirby-esque backgrounds and a very, very handsome Reed Richards at his work.

Mark Bagley then picks up the pace of the issue, giving the showdown between the Thing and the Terrible Trio a wonderful velocity and broad humor as his expressive lines barrel through the sequence. Luciano Vecchio and Pere Perez bring us home, downshifting from the kinetics of Bagley into smooth, very polished pencils that highlight the emotional final moments of the one-shot and send the issue out on a high visual note. All together each artist totally nails their sections of the issue, providing a rich, but tonally sound visual tapestry that represents the best and brightest of what Fantastic Four stories have to offer.

Calling to mind more smaller scale runs like Roberto Aquirre-Sacasa's Marvel Knights run, Fantastic Four: 4 Yancy Street #1 is a satisfying side tale for the Thing and his super-family. Blessed with the wit and heart of Gerry Duggan and a wonderful roster of artists, this one-shot holds the standard of the Richards' family and Yancy Street well, giving us a fun window into their new street and HQ. Proving you don't have to head to the starts to have fun 4 Yancy Street #1 is a block party waiting to happen.

Storia carina, il 6 lo merita tranquillamente.
Il focalizzare nella serie quanto accade a livello più umano, rispetto a quello "Cosmico", era già riuscito ad Aguirre Sacasa, nelle diverse miniserie "Marvel Nights:Fantastic Four" (2004-2006).
Se riusciranno a replicare quanto di buono fatto allora, diverrà una graziosa serie da affiancare alla principale.

Parecchio fiacca la serie.

Va anche detto che gli autori che sono stati davvero bravi a scrivere storie per i Fantastici Quattro si possono contare sulle dita di una mano (Lee/Kirby, Byrne, De Falco, Hickman).
Anche autori affermati (Roy Thomas, Wein, Wolfman, Stern, Simonson, Waid) non sono andati oltre il..."appena sufficiente".

E Slott non è autore da fare miracoli.

"Point of Origin" clatters through its penultimate chapter in Fantastic Four #18. After revealing the true nature of the Cosmic Ray storm that gave them their powers, Reed Richards' must deal with the consequences, as he has inadvertently thrown the entire society of Spyre into disarray. But while that seems the most interesting narrative point of the issue, writer Dan Slott quickly brushes past it in favor of the three-fronted action set piece that once again divides the Four against many enemies. Though it's all handsomely and kinetically rendered by art team Paco Medina, Francesco Manna, Carlos Mango, and Erick Arciniega, the narrative feels a bit too jumbled to gain the purchase it's hoping for. And while Slott ably replicates classic FF dynamics and banter, it almost feels a little too routine about it, without capturing that spark that makes these time-worn tropes fresh and new. While it certainly has the action of the F4, Fantastic Four #18 is too hectic to be a winner.

Fantastic Four: Grimm Noir #1 (Published by Marvel Comics; Review by David Pepose; 'Rama Rating: 6 out of 10):

Despite what the cover and title of this series might suggest, Fantastic Four: Grimm Noir is not a story about gumshoes and cigarettes, but instead a shaggy dog story from writer Gerry Duggan that borrows liberally from Barry Windsor-Smith's aborted graphic novel featuring the Thing, which is only salvaged thanks to some strong artwork from Ron Garney and Matt Milla. To their credit, Ben Grimm is exactly the kind of character that Garney excels at — there's already a lot of character to the Thing's design, and Garney makes everything from a glance underneath a fedora to some clobbering in another dimension look cool. But this story lacks focus, not to mention fails to deliver on the core concept promised on the cover — beyond Duggan lifting Barry Windsor-Smith's series of nightmares that grind the Thing literally into dirt, he's bouncing all over the place otherwise, with little to none of it having any connection to Ben himself. Despite the potential of this creative team, Fantastic Four: Grimm Noir feels like there's some deeply missed potential.

Riprendo a leggere questa serie, dal numero 25 c'è stata una specie di restart, giusto?

Non è un vero e proprio restart, diciamo che partono nuove trame dalla base di quanto successo nei primi 25 numeri ed in Empyre.

Comunque contento per Romitino, anche se Silva stava facendo un lavoro eccelso.
Ma forse si tratta di solo questo numero speciale...

Terminati gli impegni lavorativi estivi ho iniziato opera di recupero per i F.F.
Ho appena terminato di leggere l'albo anniversario (per i 60 anni) #35.
E devo ammettere che anche se MASSACRATA dai disegni di Romitino la storia di Slott mi è piaciuta.
Che Slott fosse una specie di...Busiek, per quanto riguarda la conoscenza del passato dei personaggi Marvel, era cosa che sapevo, ma vedere il gruppo dei Fantastici Quattro di 4 diverse ere temporali mi ha fatto rivivere i tempi del sopracitato Busiek e di "Avengers Forever".

Confesso che Slott sui Fantastici Quattro comincia davvero a piacermi.
L'avevo già visto all'opera, parecchi anni fa, su She -Hulk, e mi aveva divertito.
Ma i Fantastici Quattro...bè, sono i Fantastici Quattro, e su questi personaggi si sono schiantati diversi autori.
L'unica cosa che manca davvero a questa serie è un disegnatore "serio".
Silva se la "cavicchia", ma preferirei che venisse su questa serie un artista con uno stile più classico.
Questi personaggi lo meritano

Sono d'accordo dopo un inizio un po' claudicante la serie si è ripresa.
Slott adora la Silver Age e cerca spesso di catturare quelle atmosfere e riproporle in chiave moderna, anche su Spider-man lo ha fatto spesso...il problema è che i risultati sono stati molto alterni, però ci prova.
Slott non è tra i miei autori preferiti, ma sicuramente è in gamba sotto certi aspetti.

Su Silva invece non sono d'accordo...lo adoro e sta diventando sempre più bravo  :wub:
