The second issue picks up with Kamala attempting to come to grips not only with her newfound powers but also the application of the heroic notion that the simple act of saving one person is a step towards saving all humanity. It's a Romantic notion, and arguably, a concept missing from many contemporary superhero comics. In many regards, Wilson Ms. Marvel takes aim at the classic storytelling of Ditko and Lee in Amazing Fantasy #15 but spins her yarn for a contemporary audience while underscoring the broad appeal of this genre. Artistically, Alphono provides a similarly delicate line to that of Ditko, which emulates both the awkwardness and emotionality of adolescence. Like Kelly Sue DeConnick's Captain Marvel,it's really nice to see a comic that eschews the brooding, postmodern take on superheroes and looks instead to capture the sense of joy and inspiration these heroes can bring.

Questo terzo numero è uno spettacolo sotto diversi punti di vista, adoro come gli autori stanno mescolando perfettamente i problemi di una teenager qualsiasi, con gli aspetti particolari della vita di tutti i giorni di una ragazza musulmana, senza contare tutto il trambusto dato dai poteri inumani

Once again, Wilson and Alphono remind readers of Marvel's ability to distill the essence of the superhero genre from the lens of a troubled teen – something Ditko, Kirby and Lee founded the House of Ideas upon decades earlier. Like Peter Parker of old, we see Kamala struggling with her newfound powers in school along with the social pressures of adolescence – how does one balance superhero-dom along slide friendship with members of the opposite sex? And as Ms. Marvel learns by the issue's end, dressing up as a superhero may seem like fun and games. Instead, there are some very real costs to donning the mask, which set the young hero up to learn that things are not as black and white as they seem. Artistically, I liked how Alphono increases the detail to add emotional weight to certain moments while pulling back in others for a more minimalist approach to focus readers on Wilson's dialogue and pick up the momentum –one example of the many smart storytelling techniques employed in this issue.
