35. Lazarus

The concept of Greg Rucka and Michael Lark's Lazarus is that the world is run by 16 families, who have broken the land into little feudal systems, where everyone is split into three tiers - family, serfs (skilled labor) or waste (everybody else).

Each family has their own enforcer, known as their Lazarus. The Carlye's family Lazarus is Forever Carlyle, whose brother and sister plot against in the opening arc in an attempt to take control of the family away from their father. Forever has to fight back. The series basically follows the various plots among the many different families, but also some mysteries behind Forever's history, as well.

29. Paper Girls

Paper Girls was a series by Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chiang (with colorist Matt Wilson) that followed the adventures of four teenage paper girls in the suburbs in 1988 who get caught up in a time traveling adventure when time travelers essentially invade their small town.

As you might imagine, people react differently to such dramatic events, like the step-mother of one of the girls...

26. Dan Slott's Spider-Man

One of the original team of writers who launched Brand New Day in Amazing Spider-Man #546, Dan Slott became the sole writer of Spider-Man with Amazing Spider-Man #648 in mid-2010, which was the start of "Big Time." He mostly worked with artists Humberto Ramos, Stefano Caselli, Marcos Martin and Giuseppe Camuncoli during his initial run on the book.

23. The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead is one of the most famous comic book series of all-time, due to the hit TV show based on the comic by Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard (Tony Moore started on the book initially, but Adlard took over very early on and remained with it until it ended). It is about a man named Rick Grimes and his family and friends as they try to make it through life in a post-zombie apocalypse.

The series had already been going for years before the new decade, but some of the most notable parts of the series took place in this decade. For instance, the survivors settled in their best home yet with Alexandria, which put them eventually into conflict with the Saviors, let by the psychotic Negan.

18. Sex Criminals

Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky (working with colorist Becka Kinzie) collaborated on this clever comic book comedy about a woman named Suzie who discovered that time freezes when she has an orgasm. There is an epic bit in the first issue where we see her try to discover what the deal was with time freezing during her orgasms and as you might imagine, it is kind of hard to get a doctor, a parent, a priest or other kids to understand "time freezing when I have an orgasm." Her life continued normally enough, with her just getting used to time freezing every time she had sex until she is shocked to meet a guy who has the same powers as her!

11. East of West

East of West is a just recently completed (like REALLY recently) series by Jonathan Hickman and Nick Dragotta (and colorist Frank Martin) that is set in a reality where the Civil War never ended and the United States instead was split into warring factions based on the various ethnic groups of the country (a Chinese faction, a Native American faction, an African-American faction plus the standard Confederacy, Union and a Texas nation). In 1908, a comet hits and the various groups all agree to join together to form a treaty as the Seven Nations of America (the six factions plus the place where the comet hit, known as Armistice).

Classifica molto mainstream, ma tutto sommata sensata, solo la run di Snyder così alta non si può vedere (e non ho letto Squirrel Girl ma mi fa specie vederla nella top 10 ).

Perchè il Batman di King nella top 10???

Di scelte discutibili ce ne sono tantissime (Dan Slott al 26 ) e in effetti a King potevano lasciare le sue due miniserie migliori in Top 10 e credo avrebbero fatto felici molte più persone. Queste classifiche lasciano sempre il tempo che trovano, sopratutto quelle come questa che puntano più a riunire le serie con un buon successo commerciale/di cui si è parlato molto che a proporre fumetti di alta qualità (non per nulla si tratta al 90% di supereroi e Image, quando il panorama americano ha anche tanto altro da offrire).

P.S. Ma seriamente nella top 25 non si è trovato un posto per Sandman: Overture e Multiversity? Sono anche fumetti abbastanza conosciuti.

Sembrano un po' quelle classifiche paracule che fanno coi videogiochi e soprattutto coi film.
Ci butti il commerciale che conoscono anche cani e porci che è meglio non offendere facendo mancare il loro prodotto, ci butti qualche serie minore magari politicamente corretta per leccare un po' il sedere, ed infine qualcosa che ha vinto premi per dar l'idea che è una classifica di tutto rispetto e condivisa dalla critica.

In sostanza come tutte le classiche di questo tipo è pattumiera, utile giusto per far discutere e divertire un po' gli utenti come noi.

La classifica e' stata fatta democraticamente, tutti gli utenti iscritti al loro sito potevano votare, anch'io, ma non ci ho pensato proprio.

Perchè il Batman di King nella top 10???

Tra le letture mainstream per me ci può stare. Lo preferisco e di molto a quello di Snyder. (di contro SPecchio Nero troppo indietro) Altre run sui super che gli metterei alla pari (poco più su o giù in base al gusto) sono il Daredevil di Waid, Thor di Aaron (che purtroppo si è concluso in forte calo per me).

Sottovalutate come mi aspettavo la run di Aquaman scritta da Abnett e il Flash di Williamson che non sono nemmeno presenti.
Multiversity al 47 poi non si può vedere.
Unica sorpresa che non mi sarei aspettato, la X-Force di Remender così in alto. Per me dal Marvel Now ad oggi rimane una delle pochissimissime cose veramente buone dei Mutanti.
