Ho letto la preview, e mi azzardo a dire che si prospetta una grande cosa!

Le storie polifoniche agli americani (e anche a me) piacciono molto  :sisi: Appena si sa qualcosa in più, gli dò un'occhiata.

Material #1 (Published by Image Comics; Review by David Pepose; 'Rama Rating: 8 out of 10):

Love him or hate him, if there's one quality you should respect from Ales Kot, it's his willingness to push his own boundaries and to really reach for new storytelling angles. That's the vibe I get from Material, which has the weight and scope of a TV ensemble drama filtered through the ultra-deliberate lens of comic book art. Kot bounces around from a lot of avant-garde concepts, each with a ton of potential - Material touches upon everything from sentient artificial intelligence to improvisational filmmaking to waterboarding and the protests in Ferguson. It's a lot to unpack, and Kot is definitely taking his time, allowing readers to really savor the imagery that artist Will Tempest puts together. (Seriously, the color choices are pretty incredible.) That said, while this book feels ambitious, it's also the victim of decompression, and there are going to be plenty of readers who will find this book too self-indulgent to stick around. Still, there's plenty of Material here for Kot to mine, and I think that's going to pay dividends for loyal readers.

Ho letto per intero il primo numero, non è decisamente una serie per tutti. Per ora introduce i personaggi (4), le ambientazioni e infila un sacco di tematiche e temi filosofici dentro. Non c'è azione, ma fa decisamente riflettere! La seguirò di sicuro.
Le note a piè di pagina sono tantissime, ci vorrà una vita per analizzarle tutte.

Kot fa ridere solo su Secret Avengers.
Io col pre-order di Amazon mi son trovato male, dopo 10 giorni non avevano ancora spedito niente e ho cancellato l'ordine. Preferisco che mi si dica una data più in là, ma che quel giorno mi arrivi piuttosto che illudermi così.

Chissà come mai? Troppo ostica per il pubblico americano e troppo schierata?

Molto strano anche perchè pare che la decisione sia venuta dall'autore stesso, credo ne sapremo di più a breve. Le vendite cmq erano scandalosamente basse.

Ne capiscono sempre assai gli americani... peccato, le premesse mi interessavano tantissimo, praticamente un fumetto post-moderno.

I am choosing to stop paying attention to the comics industry, because I don't see what good lies in keeping my energy directed its way. But I am not moving away from the art form, not completely. Instead, I am moving inward, transferring vast amounts of energy, perhaps more than I ever understood I had, into building something new: a better way to live and create. I want some of this new approach to be present in comics, still, mainly or perhaps even exclusively with Image, my main publisher. I want more of this new approach to go into...other media. More on that, I believe, will spill out in the next one, two, three years.

Che dire?sono d'accordo con lui...come dicevamo ieri su faccia di libro con alcuni ragazzi il fatto è che se la gente continua a leggere la roba più sempliciotta,la roba dove ci sono solo scazzottate ecc ecc i fumetti di nicchia come questi sono sempre a rischio!!!
