Ho cominciato a leggere principalmente per Alexander, sono un suo grande fan e bisogna dirlo..le atmosfere che riesce a creare sono uniche. Se poi lo fa accostandosi all'Horror..beh..escono capolavori.
Dico questo perché la trama principale non si discosta poi di molto da serie simili legate all'argomento "Vampiri" (per ora almeno, siamo solo all'inizio), ma i pochi dettagli che ci vengono dati danno comunque quel "qualcosa in più" rispetto ad altre storie.
Ad esempio il fatto che il paziente zero, quello che ha portato l'infezione, sia stato , ritornato da un viaggio ai Caraibi..Ma di sicuro lui stesso avrà contratto il virus da qualcuno..beh..si vedrà più avanti.

Il finale è un bel colpo di scena che metterà nuovamente di fronte al protagonista il difficile rapporto padre-figlio.

Dategli una possibilità, perché, tornando alle atmosfere inquietanti, riesce a suscitare altro oltre alla curiosità della lettura.

Già con il secondo numero la faccenda si allarga e con il #3 pare si andrà anche oltre.
Dopo il finale mostrato nel primo numero, mi sarei aspettato altro..meglio così, perché ci viene mostrato che non si diventa Da qui a creare una nuova società è un attimo, difatti il boss ti pone davanti a , ovviamente una è molto più conveniente dell'altra.
Anche il fatto che, dai migliori rivoluzionari della Guerra d'Indipendenza Americana agli MS-13, il boss abbia fa promettere parecchia azione e situazioni per niente semplici da risolvere! :dyo:

Comincia qui l'assedio di Philadelphia, con Adams e la sua armata di Vampiri che , inoltre l'ex Presidente Americano comincia ad instaurare rapporti con persone potenti..il che forse può far immaginare come andranno le cose..

...Ma la rivelazione arriva con il #5! E QUI IO LO SAPEVO CHE NON POTEVA ESSERE LA CLASSICA FACCENDA!!  :dsi:
La storia di apre verso orizzonti moooolto più interessanti ora!
Tevin e il suo libro daranno parecchio filo da torcere ai non-morti! Visto anche che il ragazzo ora ha fatto l'upgrade..  :pff:

Con il #6 si chiude il primo arco narrativo e termina davvero bene.
La minaccia però non per niente sventata anzi, un nemico ancora più subdolo è salito al potere e le parole profetiche di Adams diventeranno presto realtà.

Molto bella la parte finale padre/figlio, sembra lanciare il pg verso un nuovo status quo :sisi:

Inoltre qui i poteri "magici" sono a briglia sciolta e danno davvero un tocco in più alla storia!

Lui è bravissimo!

La serie non è affatto male anche a livello di scrittura , ho letto il primo tp e mi era piaciuto abbastanza, purtroppo seguo troppa roba e per il momento questa l'ho messa in stand by.

Io per fortuna in questi mesi ho serie in tp che chiudono/cambiano scrittori, così posso concentrarmi su altro che mi prende di più. Killadelphia + lo spinoff ad esempio.

Sono passati ormai 6 mesi dal violento attacco da parte dei vampiri a Philadelphia e a quanto pare è stato messo a tacere in qualche modo..fatto passare per quello che non è. Ma nell'oscurità l'orrore continua a tramare, Abigail Adams è intenzionata a sfruttare il terrore che rilascerà per le strade per puro guadagno economico. E ci penserà una sua vecchissima conoscenza a darle una mano.. :sisi:
Nel frattempo Jimmy deve convivere con l'assenza del padre ma con Jose accanto può trovare un buon supporto emotivo.

Un numero che in parte si distacca momentaneamente dalla trama principale per mostrarci "cosa c'è" dopo la morte, in particolare quella di James Sangster Sr.
Molto bello visivamente e toccante quando ritrova la

Non va proprio a gonfie vele il "ritrovato" rapporto tra Jimmy e il padre.. Ma la cosa deve funzionare perché la squadra si è riformata ed è pronta ad agire. Anche Abigail continua a seguire la strada degli attacchi in bella vista, non la ferma più nessuno.
Viene approfondita anche la storia passata di Jupiter e si torna indietro fino agli anni della schiavitù dei neri nelle piantagioni.. è un interessante personaggio lui.

Questa volta tocca a Toppy mostrarci il suo passato e anche lui, come Jupiter, ha sofferto molto ed è stato vittima di discriminazioni razziali. Cercava di avere una famiglia ma l'odio ha portato via tutto. Finché non sono apparsi i suoi "salvatori".. e ci si ricollega al presente.
Finale un po' a sorpresa con un Jupiter che a quanto pare ha qualcosa da dire contro Abigail.. :mmm:

Abigail starà anche scatenando l'inferno tra le strade di Philadelphia ma non ha vita facile. La ribellione di Jupiter è stato solo il primo colpo, il team di protagonisti avanza sempre di più e forse ora anche il rapporto tra Jimmy e James pare essersi sistemato ma risulta ancora fragile.. Ultimo grande colpo alla catena di montaggio di Abigail, qualcuno è andato all'inferno e ha rimesso in piedi una pedina importante!

Elysium Gardens

Storia ambientata in varie epoche del passato, dall'827 in Sicilia fino a Compton negli anni 60 durante le manifestazioni di Malcom X, anche qui c'è dietro una storia di maledizione interessantissima e beh.. i sono in arrivo a Phila!  :dsi: :lagertha:

Guerra aperta a Philadelphia tra vampiri e umani, non solo la squadra dei protagonisti è in prima linea, ma anche i civili e militari.. Però i risultati sono inutili, è una carneficina.
Tra cambi di fronte e arrivi di un certo "spessore", Abigail non sta avanzando così tanto eh..quindi l'aiuto di un altro presidente vampiro, , potrebbe farle conquistare qualche base.

Elysium Gardens

Continua la storia dei che pian piano si avvicina ai giorni nostri e all'attacco a Philadelphia. Saranno una pedina importante.
Il racconto è carico di simbolismo e pieno di riferimenti alla cultura black nei vari anni, però non annoia anzi è intrecciata bene.

James ormai non può far altro che aspettare in casa con la , nel frattempo c'è invece il padre che per le strade della città prende di mira proprio Abigail, decisa ormai a staccarsi totalmente Il bello è che ora davanti ad un Seesaw intrappolato, è comparso un'altro ex presidente, un big, ovvero . Ma quanti ne stanno saltando fuori..?! :lolle:

Il sole riesce a dare una tregua alla guerra e i vampiri sono costretti a ripararsi dentro ai palazzi, però il team di protagonisti per forza di cose deve mettersi alla ricerca di Seesaw. Quest'ultimo nel frattempo riceve info su come sono andate veramente le cose dal principio grazie a dei flashback su . Ora è tutto più chiaro e ancora più interessante.. :zuzu:

Con la storia degli Eterna tutto diventa ancora più grande, la trama si è ampliata in una maniera pazzesca perché ora non ci sono solo i vampiri, ma qualcosa di ancora più antico! L'alleanza formata con ora diventa molto più concreta e l'attacco per le strade di Philadelphia sembra una nullità in confronto a quanto c'è sotto.

Sono due numeri sorpresa questi, specialmente il #23! Abbiamo pagine dedicate al background di due importanti pg legati alla fazione della luce, da notare quelle sulla macchina da guerra Toussaint! :dyo:
Dal lato oscuro grandissime novità, le due fazioni e davvero non me l'aspettavo perché la storia prende ancora una piega diversa! Dubito però fortemente che questa presa di posizione andrà bene a tutti..

Serie che migliora sempre di più! :zuzu:

Interessante come il racconto di Seesaw sulla morte del padre trasporti la storia fino alla fine, è un intreccio niente male e praticamente riesce ad invertire bene e male, la fazione della luce e quella delle tenebre. Anche i morti tengono alla vita :sisi: e il modo con il quale sono stati scritti questi ultimi numeri portano il lettore a tifare per le tenebre, perché la luce è rappresentata solo come arma purificatrice.

Un'altra importante pedina viene tolta dalla scacchiera dopo un breve flashback per mostrarci giustamente il suo passato/le sue origini, nel mentre Anansi raduna la vecchia squadra di grossi calibri, ma veramente grossi!
Ancora una volta Barnes riesce a dare nuovo ossigeno alla storia!

Quanto sta accadendo per le strade è senza ombra di dubbio un buon modo per rimescolare le carte e cambiare le varie gerarchie di comando, ma per i "nostri" comincia a farsi problematica la faccenda se si va avanti di questo passo...

Letto anche il secondo volume. Resta su ottimi livelli, ed inizia a delineare un po' il mondo vampiresco e le sue faide interne. Disegni sempre incredibili, graffiati ed urlanti.

Bello anche l'extra finale che presenta altre figure che entreranno nel mondo di Killadelphia.
Speriamo presto.

Letto il primo volume, storia intrigante e bellissimi disegni.
Volume sicuramente consigliato, certo che però che prezzi quelli della Cosmo..

Ho letto anche il terzo volume. Graficamente sempre incredibile, qui decide di ampliare un po' il mondo e di ritornare al passato facendoci vedere alcune figure chiave in epoche diverse.
Davvero un gran peccato questo prezzaccio, perchè è una serie che avrebbe venduto sicuramente molto bene.

In due numeri a quanto pare la guerra a Philadelphia finisce, è stata abbastanza una carneficina e i vampiri di John non se la passano bene...Mi aspetto davvero un cambio di registro nei prossimi numeri e con l'arrivo di nuovi personaggi importanti ho quasi delle conferme. Specialmente con il pg mostrato nell'ultima pagina del #30! Posso considerarmi molto contento essendo suo fan! :dyo:

Il numero #30 è stato anche un buon numero grazie alla storia background su Seesaw, molto drammatica e che ha trattato un tema delicato sul quale anche l'autore ha detto la sua a fine spillato.
